Took this picture this morning admiring the packing job by the taxi driver as we pushed off from St Andrews.
But wanted to use it to say a quick word about Cameron Hurdus and Matt Rouches here: it’s hard to do one of these trips like we just did in Scotland and not be in complete awe of them — their work ethic and how smart they are about golf. They are up before dawn working in the coldest conditions and doing the same at sunset. Not breaking in between, and setting an example for everyone and pushing us further. True students of golf course architecture, incredibly sharp golf minds, and then brilliant at shooting it all and making magic.
Add in that they want zero attention and are loath to it in a time in media when that’s all anyone wants. They’re probably mad I made this post and hate ever being the subject on the other side of the camera. But they deserve so much credit for Fried Egg being what it is, taking the culture and work ethic set by Andy and supercharging it.
Few cities in America offer more accessible and affordable golf than San Francisco.
