@TousiTVOfficial@MahyarTousi Actually a sign of deescalation that Iran can open some airports; also meaning that if any Americans had not been able to leave to date by other means they could now do so via said airports.
@RobertJenrick@jaglancy Agree โ weโre importing at scale while constraining our own supply.
Fix:
โขTargeted North Sea licences (fast-to-market fields)
โขRingfence revenues for transition + grid
โขTreat energy security alongside net zero
No more net โstupidโ zero as Tice refers to it
@IiMedway60806@RossKempsell ๐ฏ the UK missed a goodwill and rebuilding opportunity by not deploying a carrier and support vessels in a show of solidarity with allies in a defensive role - a real shame!
@PolitlcsUK our credibility and good will with gulf states is low and falling; the carriers are symbolic - deploying one projects power, something the UK demonstrably lacks right now, unfortunately!
@Bella45185362@TiceRichard Quite soโthis decay has been simmering for a generation, through Tory austerity that hollowed out the forces. But the exquisite final touch? A Labour government signing a contract last year that turns Portsmouth dockyard into a 9-to-5 bureaucracy; meaning 0 out 6 T45โs ready
@BellaWallerstei similar setup in Denmark but on a means tested basis; as lower income families who use private do so as they need boarding, kids have a special needs or for sport reasons - which makes quite good sense
@BellaWallerstei Same in Denmark (sliding scale based on means) and Sweden; countries supposedly more socialist than the UK - we are going communist with this policy that aims to restrict choice
