Ms. Sushila Prajapati from ActionAid Association was invited as a resource person for an awareness session on the POSH Act organized by the Women and Child Development Department, Tapi, Gujarat. More than 50 women staff from police stations and related departments actively participated and shared the challenges they face at the workplace. Participants raised concerns that Internal Committees (ICs) are missing in several police stations. The authorities assured immediate action to form ICs and display their details publicly to ensure safety, awareness, and easy access to support systems at workplaces.

In collaboration with the Women and Child Development Department, Gujarat, ActionAid Association organised an awareness programme for unorganised sector workers in Rambhas village, Dang district,Gujrat. The session focused on the POSH Act, other important women’s rights laws, and government schemes supporting safety and livelihoods. Participants learned about their rights, available support systems, and how to file complaints and seek help when facing harassment or injustice.
ActionAid Association strengthened the voices of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) by organizing a district-level meeting in Vyara, Gujarat. 50 leaders from 16 villages reviewed findings from a baseline survey conducted by ActionAid Association across 30 villages and raised critical concerns with local and state authorities. 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence | Gujarat
As part of the ongoing 16 Days of Activism, ActionAid Association organised a series of awareness and capacity-building activities across Vadodara, Navsari, Dang, and Tapi districts in Gujarat.
In Vadodara (Dabhoi Taluka), sessions with SHG women leaders focused on recognising different forms of violence, legal protections, and pathways to seek support. Participants collectively resolved to take action against alcohol-related violence by submitting complaints to local authorities.
In Navsari, the community team led discussions on the Constitution, tribal culture, and gender-based violence—emphasising women’s rights and the urgent need to address GBV within tribal communities.
Across Dang and Tapi, awareness programmes with single women helped strengthen their understanding of GBV, available support systems, and avenues for justice.
Together, these efforts continue to build safer, more informed, and inclusive spaces for women and girls.

On the occasion of Birsa Munda’s 150th birth anniversary year, the Gujarat Tribal Research and Training Society and ActionAidAssociation jointly organised the first-ever Convention of women from Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups in Gujarat. More than 400 PVTG leaders joined
The convention focused on awareness and testing for sickle cell disease, sensitization on Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH), and training on Prakrutik kheti (natural farming). The Women and Child Development Officer of Tapi District attended as the chief guest. District Health Officers Snehalbhai and Jyotishbhai provided expert guidance on sickle cell disease. Dr. Tejal conducted a session on natural farming, Sushila Shantabenled a session on POSH, and a Tribal Research Officer shared information on various government schemes.
A total of 69 women underwent sickle cell testing, out of which 11 were diagnosed positive. The program also included vibrant cultural performances, with women participating in traditional dances
