@GCSE_Macbeth I think it is a comfort blanket and I agree with others who say it is only a hindrance when students can’t move beyond the basic. Teaching critical thinking early on is the answer. But again, many find this very hard. It is hard.

A good word to track in AIC is "impertinent". Impertient means being disrespectful to someone superior...so to call someone impertinent, *you have to believe you're superior to them*.

@DeputyGrocott Leave books out open paged on table so you can whiz round and mark, closing books as you go. I can mark a whole class in an hour that way. 💥
