NFTs will have the best returns and be the most hated trade of this bull run. Exactly like last time.
$ETH is going to 10k + and when that happens, NFTs move violently, not rationally. ATHs will print while people are still tweeting “I don’t see the value.”
This run will be especially painful for spectators and old NFT holders, because they already wrote NFTs off. PTSD everywhere. That’s what creates asymmetric upside. Nothing is uncommon with price action on NFTs in their first cycle.
Money and logic isn’t real in bull markets. If you’re waiting for it to make sense, you will miss it.
You don’t need BAYC or a Big Pudgy to win. Mutant Apes and Lil Pudgys are probably the best buys right now if you can’t afford the top tier. When BAYC / Pudgy move, these slingshot.
For low cost and pure ETH beta? Checks by Jack Butcher might be the cleanest risk/reward bet in NFTs with basically no downside here.
ETH to 10k. NFTs to ATHs. Maximum disbelief incoming.

Most founders hide when they bleed. I’m turning the camera on.
This is the wildest experiment a founder has ever done: I am buying us 77 days of life.
Success or Ruin. This is Day 1.
appreciate the questions ser, here are my answers:
1. gaming
web3 players say they want “fun”, but they only care about trying to make money. that’s the actual pmf in crypto
2. lands
we already ran 3 playtests. you gather resources, you risk them to upgrade your Prime, and sometimes you break it. the landowners (you) tax every free player farming on their land, so yeah, you better upgrade your land 😬
3. expenses
we already cut from 40+ to a lean team. our tech isn’t off-the-shelf pixel art with a plug-and-play engine like most browser games (they were right, not us... crypto doesn’t care about graphics).
this is our current setup:
7 devs, 2 game designers, 1 designer, 7 artists, 2 managers, 3 community, 1 admin, 1 game director, 1 production lead, and myself.
cutting further means nothing ships.
4. the 77 days
> if Lands deliver strong revenue, we ship the full game.
> if they generate “enough”, we ship S2 and more.
> if they don’t generate enough, the game shuts down, and so do my savings.

Most web3 games are dead. Easily 95%+. Not because builders like me didn’t try, but because the “web3 gamer” isn’t a traditional gamer. They’re here to speculate while having fun. Depth matters less than outcomes. That’s the reality. Anyone saying otherwise is lying to themselves.
The games that actually work orbit around risk: RNG mechanics, wagering etc. Skill can influence outcomes, but the outcomes are still what matter most, like poker. That’s the mindset of this industry right now.
Meanwhile, “fun-first” games with tokens struggle. The moment a token exists, buyers expect price appreciation. But in a healthy game economy, tokens need to inflate, burn, and flex with design. Speculation demands the opposite: number go up. That mismatch breaks balance.
And if you aim at traditional gamers, you’re competing with the biggest studios on earth, many of which just laid off thousands. Even the most well-funded Web3 projects completely missed. The metaverse is an illusion.
So here’s the choice the surviving ~5% of Web3 games face:
1. Build directly for the crypto audience, embrace risk and design loops around it.
2. Try to build a Web2 blockbuster first, then layer Web3 once players are there for fun
Both paths are hard. But no one has cracked the second, while the first is showing real signs of life. 77-Bit is strong in graphics and gameplay compared to most Web3 titles, but not yet at the level of a true Web2 blockbuster. That’s why we’re going hard on the first path with our upcoming Land mode, aka ''Constructs'': risk mechanics and fun intertwined. Risky, spicy, and exactly what this space craves.
