I donโt understand why curable blindness is a thing. Why donโt governments step in and help? Even if youโre thinking purely from a financial standpoint itโs hard to see how they donโt roi on taxes from people being able to work again.
@realDanielMyers I think thereโs a connection there. Very difficult to quantify but when society says โthis is badโ and youโre shamed for it then youโre more likely to find a new vice with the same level of access (drinking)
Average drink (beer, wine, shot of liquor) in Japan: 7g alcohol, USA: 10g; Russia: 24g. 10-20g/week probably safe for most healthy adults, but no clear benefits post consumption. >20g/week is where negative health effects start to emerge, including neuron loss over time. #science
@JessicaVaugn @ParkerAdamEvans Iโm with you completely. Iโm from Pharma (in another life so to speak) and we only cure two things: infections + cancer and we do a horrific job with cancer.
Why not let us add mental health issues to the list with tryptamines like psilocybin?!
The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) has just been awarded Canadaโs first federal grant to study psilocybin with regard to its effect on treatment-resistant depression ๐๐จ๐ฆ
