Call me too woke but saying i-dle is copying Tyla (who isnโt an Afrobeats artist) just for exploring a genre is pretty racist.
Also, itโs clear people donโt actually care about cultural appropriation when i-dle is accused of it despite working with Nigerian producer Daramola, who is properly credited across all official channels.
Unlike 'Smart' or other African-music-inspired K-pop tracks where zero African creators were involved, i-dle did everything right. Thereโs no proof of them doing cultural appropriation, just cultural appreciation.
The only ones accusing them of CA are those prejudiced against K-pop artists, K-poppies trying to drag i-dle, and people too ignorant to know what the term actually means.
I remember Soyeon mentioning somewhere that she used to be more vicious in her performances and lyrics when she was younger and has mellowed out throughout the years, but Crow feel like she tapped into that predebut version of herself once again
#CROWMV_OUTNOW@official_i_dle
the whole song is about their struggles in the industry to make it as a self made group without cash in the bag, despite all the hate and manipulations and how they will never stop chasing the glow and keep the high spot they achieved by themselves
New Jojo really starts out with a man who wants to touch another man's balls to the point where he will chase him on horseback all across the USA to see his balls. This really is the manliest show ever.
The GRAMMYs named i-dle's "Super Lady" and CLC's "No", both written and composed by SOYEON, as K-Pop songs that celebrate women's strength and authenticity
