The Wynkoop opened its doors on this day in 1988, so I want to share a quick story about it:
For years, I was a geologist. Then, our company got bought, and we all got laid off. I took every scrap of savings in my bank account – even put my house up as collateral – and took a chance opening Colorado’s very first brewpub.
We didn’t know if we would succeed or fail, but we did know that we had to put both feet in and give it our all.
I loved the brewpub. I loved creating a team solely devoted to delivering our patrons something special. I loved bringing people together from all over, with all sorts of opinions, and solving the day’s problems over a nice, cold beer.
And let me tell you – there’s nothing a good beer can’t solve.
Now beer service and public service are a bit different, but my goal of bringing folks together to solve our toughest problems remains the same.
So I’ll end it here: through life’s frustrations, we may get beat. But as long as we keep getting back up, as long as we keep fighting every day, it’ll work out in the end. And we can cheers a beer (or two) along the way. 🍻
@UnrealBluegrass I’m so so sad. I only just stopped calling my bedtime routine my letterman time three years ago and I love love Colbert.
I’m now too old and have no desire to adjust. I’ll just pray my son gets into northwestern
Last year, I did not match. That was rough not only for me but also for all my close loved ones, mostly for my husband. Nevertheless, we persevered, and the results are finally here. Not giving up was worth it.

The doctor-patient relationship has been held as sacred for over 2,000 years.
In the US for over 30 years, it has been invaded almost at-will by mega-corporation driven by profits.
It's time to get the profiteers out of medicine.
Have you ever felt emotionally exhausted at work? Doubted your abilities or felt like a fraud? Well, SAME!!
That’s why we chatted with Drs. Mann & Fainstad about their physician coaching program @BT4GME - which is shown to decrease burnout & improve wellbeing in trainees!
Today is #EmpathyDay. @EmpathyLabUK have put together some amazing resources, live sessions and book lists, which can all be found on their website. It's also a day to have conversations with people and maybe look at things from a different point of view. https://t.co/40BFplxzkI
By refusing to enable our dying system, we can plant the seeds for the rebirth of health care that starts with the whole person

Education is the acquisition of knowledge, while intelligence is the ability to use that knowledge to think and reason. One can be highly educated but not necessarily intelligent, and vice versa.
