Advancing psychedelics as ecological medicine for planetary health through research, education, community and support. Rediscover wholeness in symbiosis.
Psychedelics alone are not the solution to any of humankind’s psychological, social and ecological problems. However, they are the beginning, a sowing of seeds of change to a multigenerational process of healing, social transformation, and ecological regeneration.
Any theory of consciousness that doesn’t root itself in ecology is already wrong. Mind doesn't emerge in isolation. It is a system within a system within a system... Mind emerges in relation. Neurons aren't enough.
The Psygaia Hypothesis explores the symbiotic relationship between humanity and psychedelic-producing organisms, highlighting their role in nurturing balance, healing, and connection—not just within individuals, but across societies and the entire planet. Through this reciprocal exchange, these naturally occurring substances help sustain equilibrium and harmony, enhancing the resilience of our species and the ecosystems we inhabit.
Rooted in the principles of Gaia Theory, the Psygaia Hypothesis posits that the Earth itself functions as a complex, self-regulating system. Psychedelic compounds—particularly those produced by other living organisms—are seen as adaptive elements within this system. They assist in integrating humanity into the broader web of planetary life, promoting survival and thriving for all species. This aligns with the view that the health of humanity is intrinsically linked to the health of Gaia, often revered in various cultures as Mother Earth.
Psychedelic experiences facilitated by psilocybin mushrooms, ayahuasca, certain cacti, and even newer substances like LSD offer access to important ecological insights and awareness, catalyzing understanding and transformations that foster harmony across species. The historical and cultural use of these substances—within various indigenous and global traditions—demonstrates their value in fostering community cohesion, spiritual insight, and a sense of environmental stewardship.
These substances gift us with a perception that honors the interdependent tapestry of life, aligning us with the evolutionary and ecological harmony of our planetary home. Psychedelics act as catalysts, offering direct experiences that illuminate our interconnectedness and our place within a living, intelligent system. Through these experiences, psychedelics promote an understanding of ecological consciousness and encourage actions that reflect an appreciation of the sacredness and interdependence of all life.
Both ancient traditions and modern scientific inquiry recognize the potential of psychedelics to nurture spiritual insight, foster pro-social and pro-environmental behaviors, and improve psychological functioning and wellbeing. The mystical experiences they generate are often characterized by profound insights into cosmic unity and oneness. By feeling deeply connected to the Earth and cosmos, individuals can find a renewed sense of meaning, which encourages behaviors that are in alignment with the health of our species and our planetary system.
In essence, psychedelics unravel life as a web of oneness and interconnectedness—a visceral understanding that serves as a beacon, guiding us toward choices that foster greater harmony with ourselves, our communities, and all of life. This reconnection offers an opportunity to heal not only the mind but also our relationship with the planet, fostering a future where humanity thrives in symbiosis with all living systems.

Thank you!
Humans used magic mushrooms before we had cities, writing, & agriculture.
Psilocybin use can be traced back ~10,000 years. It was declared illegal in 1968, which makes up the last ≤ 0.5% of our historical usage.
Why does psychedelic experience scare modern society so much?
We’re looking for feedback on our brochures which we will be distributing at mushroom dispensaries in Vancouver and psychedelic-related events around the US and Canada. Please share thoughts and suggestions in the comments!

Curious about the transformative potential of conscious connected breahting? Want to journey inward and explore the transformative power of the breath? Want to feel more connected to yourself, nature and community?
Every breath is a sacrament, an affirmation of our connection with all other living things, a renewal of our link with our ancestors and a contribution to generations yet to come. Our breath is a part of life's breath, the ocean of air that envelopes the earth.
