Requested a backup of my data but not sure I’ll ever get it. Fortunately I exported it before the buyout & everything since is duplicated elsewhere. So after like 15+ years of tweeting EVERY SINGLE DAY I’m leaving the service. I won’t support it anymore. Goodbye Twitter! 👋
Tomorrow is back to the daily grind but it’s been a good vacation, was great seeing family, & loved that the 3 cousins got bonding time and had plenty of fun memories
Last day with bro from California in town so we fit in a final play of MIND MGMT. They won but only at the very last moment. Glad I took off today. Rest of the weekend is to readjust back to routine
Back in Massachusetts but not before a stop at Funspot, a gigantic arcade in New Hampshire, where we played a lot of games including a 4-player Mario Kart Arcade GP where I came in first place 🥇 😃
Final day of our New Hampshire vacation we spent at Clark’s Bears, seeing the bear show, acrobats, magician act, train ride, bumper boats, Segway rides, & kiddo’s fave: the water slide. All 3 cousins had a blast! 😃
Full day with taking the kids to Story Land (lots of fun, daughter loved roller coaster, water rides) and late night with 8-player Captain Sonar & 3-person Underwater Cities
Day of homemade pizzas and some gaming with the bros. Finished mission #2 of Deep Rock Galactic the board game with a victory. It does well recreating the video game, though a bit fiddly. Also got in a game of The Lost Expedition
Whole fam went to downtown North Conway today, then Echo Lake for swimming, then games. The lake was really nice & pretty warm. I swam with my bros & kiddo had both her cousins. Was a good time 😊
A day of travel calamities for my bro coming in from California but finally things are on track & we’re excited to see him & my nephew late tonight. Mostly a rainy day here but we did get in a couple game plays
So I don’t plan to use Threads but I am glad for it to support ActivityPub. That allows it to connect to/from Mastodon which will bridge the gap to the masses & brands. Hard to see a path for other services to compete now without ActivityPub https://t.co/ksfWX7hGff
Had an extremely full day with work & getting things done before vacation but just one more day of work to go. Was very nice to relax with Stardew Valley afterward with the kiddo
Trouble with vacations is you end up squeezing in all the work you would’ve done during the vacation before & after it so basically it’s not so much a pause in work as much as it is a fast-forward, pause, fast-forward. Ultimately it’s the same amount of work organized differently
I have a major work bug to get fixed, numerous home tasks, and plenty of gaming prep to get done before going on our family trip in a few days. Pressure’s on
Yet more rain coming tomorrow. This is proving to be one really wet summer here. Meanwhile other parts of the world are burning up. While it’s hard to tie any single weather event to climate change, the net sum of them all is vividly clear. Coming decades are looking pretty rough
Great performance of Beauty & the Beast by daughter. So great seeing her on stage. I never saw the film & still don’t really know the plot line but I was incredibly impressed by the summer camp’s theater group putting this whole performance together in a week with such young kids
