CPS Technologies는 AlSiC 기반 MMC, 즉 금속기지복합재를 만드는 회사입니다. 이 소재는 열전도, 열팽창 제어, 경량성, 내구성이 강점이고, 반도체 패키징·IGBT 베이스플레이트·액체냉각 플레이트·방산 장갑·우주항공 부품 등에 쓰입니다. 회사도 자사 AlSiC 제품이 hermetic package, flip chip lid, IGBT baseplate, liquid cold plate 등에 적용된다고 설명합니다.

CPSH가 10배 갈 수 있는 이유

1. AI 시대의 병목은 결국 열관리다.
AI 칩, 전력반도체, 고성능 컴퓨팅은 성능이 올라갈수록 발열과 열팽창 문제가 커진다. CPSH의 AlSiC는 열을 빼내면서도 칩·세라믹·기판과 열팽창을 맞춰주는 소재다. 즉 단순 부품이 아니라, “칩이 더 강해질수록 필요한 소재”다.

2. 전력반도체 사이클의 직접 수혜주다.
전기차, 철도, 전력망, ESS, 산업용 인버터는 IGBT·SiC 전력모듈을 필요로 한다. CPSH는 AlSiC 베이스플레이트가 기존 소재 대비 모듈 수명 개선에 도움을 준다고 설명하고 있다. 전력 인프라가 커질수록 열관리 소재의 중요성도 커진다.

3. 방산 쪽 옵션가치가 크다.
CPSH의 HybridTech Armor는 MMC로 세라믹 장갑을 감싼 구조다. 회사는 이 기술이 미 해군 항공모함 crew served weapons station에 채택됐고, 2021~2024년 항공모함용 장갑 패널을 생산했다고 밝혔다. 또한 2025년에는 미 해군 Phase I 프로그램을 통해 미 해병대 ACV 경량화 가능성도 언급했다.

4. 초소형 기업이라 매출 레버리지가 크다.
2025년 매출은 3,260만 달러로 사상 최대였고, 전년 대비 54% 증가했다. 2025년 4분기에는 1,550만 달러 규모의 글로벌 반도체 제조사 follow-on order도 발표됐다. 이런 규모의 회사에서 대형 고객 한두 곳이 붙으면 매출과 이익률이 급격히 달라질 수 있다.

5. 생산능력 확장이 리레이팅 트리거다.
CPSH는 2025년 공모를 통해 순조달금 약 950만 달러를 확보했고, 더 큰 제조시설 이전과 생산능력 확장을 추진 중이라고 밝혔다. 소형 제조기업은 “수요는 있는데 생산능력이 부족한 구간”을 넘어서면 시장이 밸류에이션을 다시 매기기 시작한다.

6. 현재 시장은 아직 이 회사를 ‘핵심 병목 소재주’로 보지 않는다.
시장이 CPSH를 단순 소형 방산·소재주로 보면 낮은 밸류에이션을 받는다. 하지만 AI 열관리, 전력반도체, 우주항공, 방산 경량화가 동시에 맞물리면 이야기가 달라진다. “작은 매출의 부품회사”에서 “미션크리티컬 첨단소재 플랫폼”으로 인식이 바뀌는 순간 멀티플 확장이 가능하다.

다만 리스크도 명확하다. 2026년 1분기 매출은 700만 달러로 전년 750만 달러보다 감소했고, 총마진도 16.4%에서 8.6%로 하락했다. 회사는 주문 타이밍과 재고 증가 영향이라고 설명했지만, 아직 실적 안정성이 높은 기업은 아니다.

그래서 CPSH의 10x 조건은 명확하다.

반도체 고객 확대 + 방산 장갑 재수주 + 신규 제조시설 가동 + 매출 1억 달러 근접 + 마진 정상화

이 5개가 동시에 맞으면 CPSH는 단순 소형 소재주가 아니라, AI·전력·방산 사이클의 핵심 병목 소재주로 재평가될 수 있다.

내가 CPSH를 보는 이유는 하나다.

세상이 더 뜨거워지고, 더 전기화되고, 더 무장되고, 더 고성능화될수록 CPSH가 해결하는 문제는 더 중요해진다.

작은 회사라 리스크는 크다.
하지만 작은 회사이기 때문에, 한 번 시장의 중심 테마에 편입되면 upside도 매우 크다.

$CPSH has one of the best setups here and is one of the more interesting micro cap situations I have come across.

CPS Technologies manufactures advanced metal matrix composite components. Aluminum silicon carbide. Hybrid materials that combine the light weight of aluminum with the thermal conductivity and stiffness of ceramics.

The kind of precision engineered materials that go inside power electronics for defense systems, satellites, electric vehicles, hypersonic vehicles, and aerospace applications.

This is not commodity manufacturing. These components take years to qualify into programs. The thermal management properties of what CPS makes are critical for high power electronics that cannot fail. Defense contractors. Aerospace primes. Government programs.

Once you are qualified into a program you stay qualified. The switching cost is enormous because requalifying a new supplier takes years and risks program delays nobody can afford.

That is the moat. Quiet. Unglamorous. But real.

Now look at the fundamentals.

2025 was a record year. $32.6 million in annual revenue. Improved balance sheet. New contract wins across defense and aerospace.

Strong backlog heading into 2026. Q1 came in light on revenue but management was explicit that it was order timing not demand weakness.

The backlog and new contract activity support a strong recovery through the rest of the year. Revenue is forecast to grow 19% annually over the next two years against a 12% industry average.

Director Ivo Cavoli bought shares personally in March. Insider buying at micro cap level is always worth paying attention to.

Now here is the angle that makes this setup genuinely unique.

$CPSH is included in a NASA themed ETF. That means passive institutional buying flows into this stock on a consistent and automatic basis. Every time the ETF rebalances.

Every time new money flows into the fund. $CPSH gets bought. For a micro cap trading at $65 million market cap with naturally thin volume that institutional bid changes the supply demand dynamic of the entire stock.

Most micro caps live and die on retail interest alone. $CPSH has a structural institutional buyer that never goes away regardless of market conditions. That is an underappreciated advantage that almost nobody talks about.

Defense spending is accelerating globally. Hypersonic programs require exactly the thermal management materials CPS specializes in.

Every electric vehicle and power electronics application needs advanced thermal solutions. The tailwinds behind this business are not going anywhere.

$65 million market cap. Record revenue last year. NASA ETF inclusion. Strong backlog. New contracts being won. Insider buying.

This is exactly the kind of hidden gem that gets discovered quietly before it moves.
