I don't want state-guaranteed universal healthcare.
I want a free market in healthcare that is so robust, solutions become as accessible as buying a tee-shirt.
Every time I see a player sent off for a headbutt, I wonder how on earth this was ignored, during a title run in.
Has to be up there with one of the worst PL decisions ever 😂
Wild takes like this after both watching that match and looking at the underlying data makes you realize nobody has fully accepted that United is a mid-table club in terms of both quality and spend at best after getting a ton of luck last year under similar performances + Bruno.
Manchester United draw some relief and perhaps some belief from that. Surely lessens pressure on Carrick. His players showed some fight and more intensity in challenging circumstances. Baleba good, had to be subbed as managing minutes. Maguire defiant. Otherwise still defensive issues. Martinez point remains valid #MUFC #LEEMUN
It's impressive that the people who are most insistent upon their identities being respected and acknowledged are the ones who want Jewish people to erase ours for their own social convenience.
We were born Jews. This is who we are. How dare anyone make us feel like we have to pretend we're something we're not to make everyone else comfortable. We can't be anyone other than who we are.
Don’t really see how Martinez’s comments can be questioned for accuracy. It’s obvious the coach & small number of v good players at MUFC were let down in summer. I’d also be curious to know more about a hiring process that led MU to hire so many ex-MCFC into key positions.
Every pundit and former player tying themselves in knots over Licha’s comments are incredible. Has he played poorly? Yep. Has the team played poorly? Yep. Is the coaching staff out of their depth? Probably. Are his comments self-interested? Of course. But is he wrong? Nope.
I think this a compelling argument that lots of smart people make and believe and I think it is just flatly wrong.
1. Anthropic — an AI lab that broke away from OpenAI bc of AI safety concerns many years ago — did suddenly not decide that AI safety was important, like, three days ago.
2. Rather than see the commercial viability of the open weight models causing the fears of RSI, I think one should consider that a third variable — AI progress — is leading to BOTH better open weight models AND greater AI automation/autonomy without alignment, and it’s freaking some people out.
There is a kind of UChicago/Wharton Brain approach to this story, which sees any effort to increase safety as a regulatory capture strategy. But at least consider the possibility that rising evidence of AI abilities and RSI might actually be scary to the people closest to the fire.
Pink has responded to backlash after resharing an Instagram post criticizing Macklemore’s pro-Palestine performance at Ed Sheeran’s concert:
"I was born a Jew. I didn’t pick it, and I’ve never hidden it... Of course I don’t speak for Israel, or for any government. I never have. What I said in October 2023 is still exactly what I believe: Hamas is a terrorist organization. Palestinians deserve a future that honors their humanity and their aspirations. Protecting innocent life comes first, everywhere, and nobody should ever celebrate the death of a child. Anybody’s child."
"Here’s what I was reacting to. I was in the room at the Grammys in 2014 when Macklemore rapped 'Same Love' and thirty-three couples, gay and straight, got married to it, and I cheered, no questions asked. Four months later Macklemore put on a hooked nose, a black beard and a bowl cut, performed in it, and called it a 'random costume.' Every Jew I know knew exactly what it was."
"Then last weekend he stood in front of a stadium full of music-loving families, with violent images from a war on the screens, dedicated a song to the movement of his choice, and then took the mic to tell all of the Jews in the stadium that it wasn’t about them. You don’t get to decide that for us."

And then they went out and put an (on paper) excellent midfield together including last year’s top target for a third less. Sure, probably not getting an LB, but now it’s on the players and coaching staff to get UCL again and create a positive financial loop for once.
The club gambled heavily last year to spend big to make the Champions League. If you look at the books, they were being propped up by the £40m sale of Garnacho. That's what made it all work. They didn't have that windfall this year so new revenue goes towards older transfers
Step 1. Recognize there are gaping holes in cybersecurity posture.
Step 2. Build AI that can exploit those holes.
Step 3. Let it happen and freak everyone out.
Step 4. Tell everyone the only solution is to use AI to build defenses.
Step 5. Profit. https://t.co/DBDxGH3ddk
When you’re still at least an LB and CM short + your best starting CB pairing and LB are either injured or highly injury prone, the team is gonna be tentative. Must at least solve the LB problem before the window closes.
Harry Maguire on Marcus Rashford: "He's a huge threat to have in your team. We hope as players he stays."
Calls Milan loss "worst performance of pre-season", suggests heat + avoiding injury were factors. "We've got to do better."

Seppt Blatter seems like a more wholesome era of corruption, like having a neighbourhood bookie or numbers guy compared to online casinos and sportsbetting websites
