Last Wednesday, I led Congress to provide $20 billion extra dollars (available immediately) to FEMA so they would have operational funds right now to respond to Helene.

President Biden and VP Harris have failed terribly in that response. They knew this storm was coming but did not adequately prepare. It is inexcusable! I’ve visited many of the impacted communities in the affected states, and they desperately need the full aid and support of this Administration.

Once the affected states are able to calculate their damages, Congress is fully prepared to provide additional disaster funds as needed.
