Critical thinking was top of mind at the IDEA-X Challenge on Thurs., tackling solutions to Artificial Intelligence (AI). Congrats to winners AI-Phillic (REMSS) for helping educate students about AI, and honourable mentions to Elevaite (WGSS) and Team Razing (WGSS).
On Wednesday, the District officially celebrated the opening of Josette Dandurand Elementary, which opened its doors for the first time last September. The event was centred on the idea of community & featured speakers, student performances & recognition of the Dandurand family.
Graduates of the District’s Aboriginal Education program – known as the Golden Eagles – were celebrated Thursday at the Aboriginal Achievement Awards. The community event includes a blanketing ceremony which is the highest honour in Indigenous culture. Congratulations to all!
The two newest schools on the Willoughby Slope are coming to life! Construction is well underway at the brand-new campus that will soon be home to both Emery Dosdall Secondary and stɑtl̓əw̓ Middle School. We’re excited about seeing students walk through the doors in 2027!
It was a stunning second place finish for R.E. Mountain Secondary’s Improv Team at the Canadian Improv Games held in Ottawa this past the weekend. Thanks to teachers Mr. Sidhu and Mr. Thompson for supporting the students to the finals. Way to go students. We are so proud of you!
