@chrispronger Anaheim should match. This Carlson is really good player and those are the most difficult to acquire. The argument against it is you always want efficient contracts but I think it is less important in this case. Mid to low tier players is where you need contract efficiency....
@chrispronger This is similar to Broberg/Holloway offer sheet from STL. To me, it means Hayton probably already unhappy in UTAH and strong arming his way out. Also, NJD probably tried to trade for him without success?
@Oil_Drop Last time he was sent to minors, he bounced back and was performing at a high level. A kick in the rear end is all he needs. No way to guarantee how he will react.
@Shady80KW@FriedgeHNIC Of course, NJD do not plan to trade the player, but will probably extend them in January. This is very clever move as they essentially sign the player as a RFA for a higher amount but not have to pay high compensation (draft picks)
@NHL_Watcher Itβs not a EA Sports video game roster where you just add up overall ratings. Trading Nurse wasn't about losing an individual piece; it was about transforming a single, highly inefficient roster spot into three or four efficient ones.
@JoshYohe_PGH I read that NHL wants to solve this NMC issue in the future. How about they allow teams to trade a player for assets to another team that is ok to suspend that player with pay? For example: Det trade Larkin to Van for Peterson, then Van lets Larkin stay at home until β¦
@ryanpmcarthur From what I understand, NCAA will kinda be like a semi-pro league. Like the very elite players can benefit. But if you are an NHL team that has lots of prospects, would they be allowed to use NCAA as way to develop players better? Like if they have too many goalies ?
@dstaples I think there is resentment on his 2nd contract where there was a rumour that he insisted he was just as good as Matthews and wouldnβt take a discount at all.
