@BlindDad_Uk@Kika_GuideDog To a well earned retirement! Thanks, Kika, for the inspiration and education you’ve provided. Looking forward to following your new chapter in life.
Unfortunately, happens to us all of the time. Many times the drivers just drive by and cancel without even stopping. Quite frustrating. Thank goodness for the drivers that understand, go out of their way to help, and restore our faith in kindness!
Early this morning I got refused by an @Uber driver as he didn’t want @Kika_GuideDog in his car.
2nd driver, couldn’t have been more helpful. He helped me with my bags & made sure we were comfortable before driving us to @GLA_Airport. He even insisted on guiding us to check-in.
It’s been a while since you’ve seen me work, so here’s a snippet of a journey through the London train & tube network with lots of walking & tunnels.
Watch closely as I check in on dad as we travel & hold my ground on the escalator.
But do we make our tube in the end?
Meet the Canine!
Another character from that mysterious project I’m working on. The final product came out more generic than intended, but I’m still learning!

I write this with a heavy heart, there’s no easy way to say it. @Kika_GuideDog has cancer.
We don’t know how far it’s spread as yet, we’re focussing on Kika’s quality of life, taking every day as it comes.
For now, my girl is home with her family, where she belongs 💙
Went to Capitol Hill this week to raise awareness of Usher syndrome and change the way rare eye disease treatments are brought to patients. Thanks @UsherCoalition and those who traveled near and far to make some noise for those with Usher syndrome #USHDay2022#TakeBackTheLight
Usher Syndrome Awareness Day is September 17. Usher syndrome is a rare disease and leading genetic cause of deaf-blindness. Those with Usher begin by losing vision in dim light first followed by loss of peripheral vision leading to tunnel vision. #TakeBackTheLight#USHDay2022

I’m happy to see my friend, Moira, and her new dog, Cormac! Getting a new guide dog is challenging for many reasons, and people who don’t understand guide dogs makes it even harder. Please, learn about guide dogs and act appropriately around them. Thanks! https://t.co/yK0Tj7WYLo
Thank you, William at Uber. I wish you could see this and know how much guide dogs and their partners appreciate you humanity (and dogmanity…ok, not a word, but you know what I mean).
I know some @uber have dropped the ball when it comes to passengers with #AssistanceDog but some driver are great.
Five drivers canceled as my gps wasn’t putting me in the right place. The 6th driver (William) simply called me when he couldn’t find me half a mile down the road👍🏽
March 3rd is World Hearing Day. This day was chosen to honor Alexander Graham Bell. But did you know that both Bell’s mother and wife were deaf. This, again, only strengthens the known truth: Necessity is the mother of invention. #OurMotto#OurPledge
After a rollercoaster few years due to Covid, I’m not as confident at work as I once was.
So today I got a mini confidence boost thanks to Graham from Guide Dogs, who came to make sure I’ve still got what it takes. I may be a little more cautious but I’m told I haven’t lost it!
