@Beni1250793@virrals you don’t really though? surgeons just say that to take responsibility off them, but as long as you’re having penetrative sex it’s literally fine. worst comes to worst, you dilate once a week. like that’s nothing…
@NFRISTHEBEST@virrals i never understood this, because it’s one of the surgeries with the lowest rates of complications (1-2% risk for the bad complications and they’re treatable). it’s also not that complex of a surgery considering. though recovery is (temporarily) involved. a good surgeon is key
@Superplant33770@Lanternfsh@PedrinhHsa@ihatenames0 it’s just nonsense theoretical academia that pretends it has a point when in reality it’s meaningless beyond twitter. there’s actual problems in the world, and they’re not going to be solved by essayslop “deconstructing the inherent fascistic neocolonialism of video games” lmao
@Ash11_is_taken@beansdelivered also those levels are trough levels, so your peak is obviously higher (but peak levels don’t matter, only trough). I personally feel fine with 550 pmol/L every 7 days, but that’s because I also can’t be bothered to inject in smaller intervals and I feel good, so doesn’t matter
@Ash11_is_taken@beansdelivered no, endos are usually a little conservative in their dosages. WPATH recommends 100-200 pg/mL (which is ~350-750 pmol/L). But some people feel better at even higher levels, and it’s not harmful either way. It’s all very YMMV, all that matters is whether you feel good
@Ash11_is_taken@beansdelivered Can happen because EV has a short half-life, so you ideally want to do them every 3.5 or 5 days instead of weekly (dose needs to be adjusted). If your levels aren’t high enough at trough (lowest levels before next dose), then you need to up your dose. Ideal range: 350-750 pmol/L
@i_rin444@TeddyisVenn am I genotypically/chromosomally male? sure (though irrelevant). but because of HRT, I’m now phenotypically female and my gender is “woman” (I always had the medical condition of dysphoria but suppressed it because of social conditioning). bodies are more adaptable than you think
@i_rin444@TeddyisVenn idk why you think we’re some kind of monolith, as if we’re incapable of individual thought. activism done by cis allies and some trans people does not represent us all. gender/sex are more complicated than can be explained in concise and reductive tweets or political punchlines
@tiniestlilkrug@PunishedGramsci I have no skin in this game, but:
Valve Index: released June 28, 2019
COVID outbreak: Dec 2019
COVID pandemic: Jan 20, 2020
???
@Dollyreadz@colligocrisis Apropos of nothing: I don’t think scientific theories or research should be dismissed/condemned simply because they could be misused by bad actors. Idk, I’ve always found that line of thinking incredibly shortsighted.
@softbunnypaws_ They did a survery in Quebec, Canada, and 88% of transfems in the province were pursuing or going to pursue bottom surgery. This number’s higher because thankfully we have it covered under government insurance in Canada. I wish it was like that everywhere 🩷
@softbunnypaws_ 2024, and it’s a small sample size (n=74), so that could explain it. And it does consider age and financial status!
The survey is in French though: https://t.co/u2krQWla0J
Also, Canada has the most comprehensive survey on trans people: https://t.co/gkM5600Pid
@NinaKittyrina There’s too much to go over in character-limited tweets, so I’m just going to leave it at that. I’m sorry people are being weird about not wanting surgery, but scaremongering surgery isn’t right either
