Pretty sure I spoke on this before all the way back during Superman (2025)’s release, but I quite enjoy Superman not being the first hero of the DCU and now acknowledging that there’s been superheroes around since he was a baby. Not only does it allow us to flourish his adolescence with the fantastical presence of metas and superheroes of previous generations for him to look up to (please give us Superboy, James), but it makes his position in the universe feel way more nuanced in my opinion. He isn’t special because he’s the first, but because he’s different. He’s defined not solely by his existence, but his radical actions which tend to diverge from the common superhero.
To our knowledge, he is still the only superhero who’s truly rogue and operates on his own accord with no governmental ties either to America or an even greater force like the Guardians of The Universe. He’s an anomaly of sorts who guides the path to a brighter tomorrow through his own values. There’s the isolation you’d want from Superman going that route, but it helps retain his independence and place in the world that almost feels like that of an anti hero.
He is the Man of Action.
The Maximoff family has the most well-developed, beautifully crafted relationship in the MCU. I'll die on the hill that no other group compares.
Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Joe Locke, and Ruaridh Mollica, get ready to be lined up for Secret Wars and a Scarlet Witch movie!!
@SageTreacherous@DCMultiverses Yeah they seriously did it a disservice by basing it off woman of tomorrow bc now everyone’s comparing the two and supergirl definitely doesn’t beat woman of tomorrow. It’s not a bad movie honestly but when you compare it to a masterpiece of course people don’t like it as much
