Today marks Nakba Day, an annual day of remembrance to commemorate the expulsion of more than 700,000 Palestinians between 1947 and 1949 during the creation of the State of Israel and the year that followed.
Inea is a New Yorker and a Nakba survivor. She shared her story with us — one of home, tradition and memory over generations.
When I was a student at UT, I registered voters for Obama’s 2008 campaign — a campaign of hope.
President Obama just showed up at UT and told young Texans: “Now you have the chance to join a campaign of hope.”

BREAKING: Trump kicks off Easter with insane, blasphemous cuss-filled threat to commit unspeakable war crimes!
In a profane, blasphemous Easter threat to Iran, Donald Trump seems bent on annihilating Iran’s civilian infrastructure and declared next Tuesday “Power Plant Day,” implying he is ready to throw out the rule international book on warfare.
“Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the Fuckin’ Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell - JUST WATCH!” Trump wrote.
What a touching sentiment to express on the holiest day of the Christian calendar.
Seemingly emboldened by last night’s dramatic rescue of a downed American pilot capped the threat with the bizarre and profoundly disrespectful religious flourish no doubt blasphemous to Muslims considering the context: “Praise be to Allah.”
This comes as Trump’s illegal war continues to escalate, American service members are under fire, gas prices are spiking at home, and the world watches in disbelief as the U.S. president sounds more like a schoolyard bully with nuclear codes than a serious leader.
While families struggle with the economic fallout of his reckless conflict, Trump is openly fantasizing about turning Tuesday into a day of destruction against Iranian infrastructure.
Why? because he been backed into a corner by the war, he started but can’t finish. can’t handle the consequences of starting a war he can’t finish.
If you think Trump’s psychotic “Power Plant Day” threat and contemptuous “Praise be to Allah” rant while American troops are in harm’s way is little short of a national security nightmare, please like and share.
