Today we laid to rest a fearless member of the Black and White Army; my brother and comrade John Makgoka.
Cde John was a committed activist who never shied away from taking a principled stand particularly when it relates to advancing the interests of learners. During his tenure as Gauteng Chairperson of COSAS, he spearheaded the ‘Operation Vala campaign’, calling on pupils to participate in a go-slow protest against the subsidisation of private and former Model C schools. The campaign sparked a debate at the time, with the national leadership distancing itself from the methods he employed but he remained steadfast in his convictions.
Farewell my dear comrade. Your courage, conviction and commitment to the struggle will never be forgotten.
Once and Always #Bucs#Pirates ⚫️⚪️🏴☠️
Congratulations to the team and to Chairman @IrvinKhoza- Dr. Irvin Khoza for keeping the spirit of the club alive and leading with a winning mentality. #TrebleChampions - such a great feat and a proud moment for the Buccaneers family.

Happy Birthday, KG.
May you continue to grow with the courage of Solomon Kalushi Mahlangu, who was executed on this day 47 years ago by the apartheid regime. Like him, remain fearless, principled, and unwavering in the face of adversity. Never retreat. Always surge forward. Wishing you strength, clarity of purpose, and many more impactful years ahead.
I will deliver a tribute on behalf of the ANC as we honour the late Comrade Moruti Maphatsoe at a Memorial Service taking place at FM STJ Apostolic Faith Mission, Protea North, tomorrow, 13 November 2025, at 16h00.
The service will celebrate his lifelong dedication to the liberation struggle and his steadfast service to the ANC and the people of South Africa.

To our friends in the media thank you for telling the good story of Comrade Nyambose, for honouring his legacy, and for standing with the nation in this moment of remembrance. Your voices keep his revolutionary spirit alive.
Today, we lay to rest Comrade Nyambose returning him to his eternal home. “His ready smile, the perfect tonic of an incisive and agile mind, will live on in our collective memory.” A revolutionary spirit rests, but his ideals march on. 🕊️
Comrade Nyambose - a tireless revolutionary, a wonderful soul, and a rare gift to our glorious movement. You shaped our strategy and tactics with conviction, serving our movement and the people of South Africa with true stewardship. Farewell, dear brother and comrade in arms. 🕊️
Today, the 6th of September 2025, we joined fellow mourners in Dinokeng, Bokone Bophirima, to honour and bid farewell to our very own Prince Uhuru Moiloa. He often spoke fondly of his home, and as he had wished, it now becomes his final resting place. Uhuru was and remains ANC.
As we pay homage I reflect on the honor of having led and served alongside a truly humane soul, DP DD Mabuza. Devoted his life to freedom and gave himself fully in service to our people. Farewell, fellow fighter.
Ours was a meaningful encounter. Salute.
Let's protect our children. Our actions today will determine what becomes of their future. It's one death too many. We all need to stand together as one for the sake of our national treasure: the children.

My mom has been an ANC member and activist for all of my life. I share a birthday with the ANC, and for most of my life, I proudly spent Jan 8th with other family or friends, while my parents served the party. Since I was almost 9 years old, she has served as a member of South Africa’s democratic government. During those three decades, she has led with dedication, integrity, intelligence, wisdom, a love for her country, and a focus on principles, those held high by her religion, upbringing, country and party. Yesterday I told her for the countless time, how much I love her, how much she inspires me and how proud I am of her. I’m excited for this next stage in her life, which I know will be anything but idle. It will undoubtedly be focussed on creating positive impact and on continuing to champion the causes of the underserved, voiceless and powerless. I’m also hoping that as by far the most hardworking person I’ve ever met, she finally takes a bit of well-deserved time for rest. Very proud and grateful daughter, and hopeful for SA. May our country and people be blessed with peace, unity, growth and prosperity 🇿🇦
Today I proudly casted my vote for @MYANC, which truly liberated South Africans from the shackles of poverty. I made my choice freely. Victory awaits us and the best is about to happen for all. This is the people’s moment.
