Such events occur when the Politics leans more on giving freebies rather spending in the real growth i.e. Education and Human Resources through Capacity Building.

The NPTEL Funding should not be stopped, and any made up logic to justify this should be defied.

If the NPTEL news is correct then as a teacher, I request you to request the govt to NOT STOP THE FUNDING OF NPTEL 🙏

I want to tell you that NPTEL is a free platform run by IITs and the Indian Institute of Science since 2003

It offers hundreds of courses in engineering, sciences and more with optional exam fees for certificates valued in jobs and credits

Students have shared here on Twitter emails received from NPTEL which is highlighting current funding from India’s Ministry of Education (via SWAYAM) but seeks survey feedback on future models (pointing to potential cuts?)

Please see that NPTEL is said to have an immense impact on learners

It is reported that Andhra govt recently enrolled 55,000 students in one quantum course

Such is the demand and impact of the programme

They say that it has seen over 1.58 crore total enrollments

And fearing higher costs, many from small towns and low income families who rely on it could find their access restricted or even blocked

So, id circle back to the thought again

That on one hand govt wants to kill coaching centers and on the other if it’s defunding NPTEL then it clearly shows the lack of leadership in making India a world power 🙏
