Pulpit fiction is a podcast hosted by Revs. Eric Fistler and Robb McCoy. It is like sitting in the backseat as two pastors talk about Le Royale with Cheese.
#P1Live. Not a question, I just want to thank you for so much joy you’ve brought into our life. My whole family is here and have become huge fans, both of F1 and of you. We even have a family Predictors Cup, Thanks for being a part of our family.
About 10 p.m. this evening, LaVon was taking the dogs out for the last time for the night, and a skunk approached and sprayed them from about three feet away! In case this ever happens to you, here's what you need to know: 1. Tomato juice is not likely to be a huge help. 2. Immediately mix up a quart of hydrogen peroxide, a teaspoon of dishwashing soap and a quarter cup of baking soda - keep it out of your dogs eyes or mouth and carefully wash the dog with plenty of the mix, then rinse them. This does the trick - our dogs were hit directly, and they smell clean now. It is important to do this quickly. 3. For inanimate objects, use a cup of bleach and a gallon of water. 4. Open windows, turn on the ceiling fan, and set out cups of vinegar to get ride of the smell that wafts indoors or is carried in by the dogs and carefully clean everything they touched. Special thanks to the poison control website for the suggestions on the mix to use to wash the dogs.
He spent 70 minutes congratulating, saluting and shaking the hand of each one of the 1,036 graduates, plus gave his speech, but it’s not worth any commentary by the media.
So you know he did well.
4. Pulp Fiction (1994)
In this timeless movie poster, Uma Thurman's character is depicted reading what appears to be a magazine bearing the title of the movie, emphasizing the meta/referential essence of the film.
In my life as a United Methodist pastor, General Conference has only brought me a series of disappointments. Today's vote to Worldwide Regionalization passed with a 78% majority moved me to tears of joy. #umcgc
Also some ideas of what progressive reforms we hope to happen. What are the Three* R’s? What are we hoping to happen at #UMCGC2024, which is actually #UMCGC2020
This special episode is about the United Methodist Church General Conference #UMCGC, which opened in Charlotte, NC today. @FatPastor chats with four of his friends who are in Charlotte. Lots of overview about what is happening https://t.co/upLXCTXhiz
The lectionary reading for the Sunday in the middle of #UMCGC includes Acts 8:26-40. It is the story of the Holy Spirit pushing Philip walk with, and eventually baptize, the Ethiopian eunuch. The implications and intersections of this story feel very timely.
We are hoping to record a special extended Voices in the Wilderness episode tonight. We will chat with a few #UMCgc delegates who are in Charlotte right now. #UMC
The truth is the job we do and the state we are in are inextricably linked. It is hard to be healthy in a sick world. Healing must be done by and in community.
We are dying from the weight of unresolved trauma. We need to activate every means of healing at our disposal. Communal response, life-affirming relationships, embrace creativity, using all our expertise, vocational, educational, spiritual resources.
