Day 22- Rex has been learning about ABGs. An important diagnostic tool that allows us a in depth look at the impact treatment is having on patients. ABGs use sharps and here Rex is showing what not to do! (Please note this is a brand new bin so no injury would occur)
Day 20- Saturations are an important observation we measure. Wearing nail polish especially red or acrylic nails can really affect this giving inaccurate traces. Its important either remove the polish or to use ear probes for accurate measurements. #rexonhex#respcare
Wounds and are choosing and removing dressings! We also incorporate this into waterlow assessments. Steriods are good but we always need to cobsider the potential side effects for hexcellent care! #rexonhex#respcare @sarahontarquil1 @Precept_UHP@UHP_NHS
Day 12- Rex has been learning about the side effects of long term steroid use and the impact it has on patients. One of these is skin! Steroids can thin the skin which can impact skin integrity and can also slow wound healing. We have to be aware of this when we are assessing 1/2
Day 4- teaching rex about good inhaler technique! An important part of our role! @asthmauk have good resources to support both our own and patients knowledge on all types of inhaler. https://t.co/r1ZJm8zYdR

@meverittPUNC19 @PUNC14 I would say safety as you need to look at the bigger picture too, as well as tending to the wound to stop infection you also need to understand how the wound occured to stop it happening again. Everything you do from dressings to positioning to education is safety
Spent the day stress baking for my brothers birthday. This week has not been easy and I'm not sure when it will get easier, but next week is a new week onwards and upwards
@HenriettaFergu1 @PuncNat_S_Nurse @Derrifordjobs @PUNC14@UHP_NHS But is it going to be today or tomorrow? I understand how hard they are working but would just like to know
