This morning also, Ambassador Uebert Angel made a call possible that I believe needed to happen.
He brought me and Mr. Acie Lumumba together , and I want to publicly acknowledge that. The Ambassador did not have to do that. He chose to. That tells you everything about the kind of man he is and the seriousness with which he approaches his role in Zimbabwe's story.
There is something else I want to say publicly, the call reminded me that silence on important matters create its own damage.
Ambassador Angel delivered a prophetic word that I misunderstood. I want to own that. What I received and how I processed it was not what was intended. Ambassador Angel and I addressed this directly , days after the event. We ironed it out completely. He is not my adversary. He never was. He is a man I respect deeply, a brother I work alongside, and someone whose vision for Zimbabwe I share.
Ambassador Angel and I carry a shared mandate , to open doors for investment, to support His Excellency President Mnangagwa's agenda for economic transformation, and to represent Zimbabwe's interests at the highest levels. That work does not pause for misunderstandings. But when left unaddressed, the misunderstandings become noise that distracts from the mission.
To everyone who was drawn into this moment: seek truth before amplifying. The men you thought were at war were not. The relationship you thought was broken is not.
Zimbabwe is bigger than any of our individual moments. I choose to invest my energy there.
God is love. And sometimes, love picks up a phone.
