Love this pic bc it shows my biggest frustration as a gay guy weeb which is that there’s no bl genre fiction CLOSE to the gl genre fiction like SM, utena, Madoka, etc. The closest is like, Eva 3.0😭 the slice of life stuff is cute but gay boys have no fun genre stuff :(

Furthermore, even if they do truly like the work and respect all of its elements, a straight man isn't going to be interested in buying character goods of handsome male characters. The primary moneymakers will always be the female audience.

I really don't see the point in trying to promote joseimuke works to men without prior interest. Way I see it is there's only 2 likely outcomes: they either hate it and use it to look down on joseimuke fans or like it and then downplay all the joseimuke elements to save face.
