आज ही के दिन गुजरात के गरीब और आर्थिक रूप से कमज़ोर पाटीदार समुदाय के लिए सरकारी शिक्षा और नौकरियों में आरक्षण सुनिश्चित करने हेतु सभी के सहयोग से पाटीदार आंदोलन शुरू किया गया था। लगभग तीन वर्षों के संघर्ष और बलिदान के बाद, न केवल गुजरात के पाटीदार समुदाय को बल्कि आरक्षण के दायरे से बाहर रहने वाले लगभग 30 समुदायों को गैर-आरक्षित आयोग और निगम मिले, साथ ही मुख्यमंत्री युवा स्वावलंबन यो��ना के तहत प्रति वर्ष 1000 करोड़ रुपये की योजना और सरकारी नौकरियों में पाँच वर्ष की आयु सीमा भी बढ़ाई गई।

जनवरी 2019 में प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेंद्रभाई मोदी के प्रयासों से भारत के इतिहास में पहली बार गुजरात सहित देश भर के पाटीदार, ब्राह्मण, राजपूत सहित 50 से अधिक समुदायों को आर्थिक आधार पर 10% आरक्षण का लाभ मिला।

लगभग हर दिन मुझे फ़ोन आता है कि हार्दिकभाई, आपके द्वारा शुरू किए गए आंदोलन की वजह से जो आर���्षण और योजना लागू हुई इसके कारण मुझे नौकरी या एडमिशन मिला। यह लड़ाई समाज के गरीब लोगों के लिए थी और सफल रही।

इस आंदोलन में कई लोगों ने बहुत कुछ खोया है, कुछ ने अपने परिवार के सदस्यों को खोया है, जबकि मेरे जैसे 20 युवाओं ने अपने जीवन के कई महीने जेल ��ें बिताए, मुझ समेत कई युवाओं पर कई मुकदमे दर्ज किए गए, लेकिन कहावत है कि अगर कुछ पाना है तो कुछ खोना भी पड़ता है। मुझे इस बात का ज़रा भी दुःख नहीं है कि मैं जेल गया, पर मुझे इस बात का दुःख है कि मैंने समाज के युवाओं को खो दिया, लेकिन इस आंदोलन से समाज को जो लाभ मिला, उससे मैं खुश भी हूँ।

यह आंदोलन पूरे समाज का था और इतिहास इस आंदोलन को हमेशा याद रखेगा।

मैं गुजरात के सभी युवा पाटीदारों और पाटीदार परि���ारों को पाटीदार क्रांति दिवस की हार्दिक बधाई देता हूँ और शहीद पाटीदार युवाओं को श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित करता हूँ।

मैं सभी से अनुरोध करता हूँ कि आंदोलन से प्राप्त योजनाओं और आयोगों का लाभ अवश्य उठाएँ।
