@spywon@finematics Which layer 1s would you like to see? Most defi concepts seem to be universal across chains but id be curious to hear if there were particular defi things more possible on other chains
@ConstitutionDAO The words of another contributor: "Let's show the world that America is the natural home for web3 by taking into custody the document that started it all."
See the ubiquity of facial recognition and algorithmic scoring in China as todayโs crude examples of state use of AI. Crypto and web3 are absolutely essential technologies to counter the increasing ease and ability to maintain, enforce, and expand state power.
The rise of decentralized technologies plays an important foil to the other unstoppable tech innovation happening rn: AI. AI makes it easier to enforce power and dissuade dissenters. (1/2)
The beauty of web3 is that early adopters, users, & evangelizers of apps are financially rewarded. They are just as important to an appโs success (especially apps that rely on network effects) as early investors, who were the major beneficiaries in web2.
There are 3 main sources of wealth inequality:
1. Luck.
2. Compounding. (It's a lot easier to turn $5mil into $10mil than it is $0 into $5mil.)
3. Access to Opportunity.
Web3 & crypto will be THE major driving force towards equal access to opportunity at global scale.
I love using the term 'web3' over 'crypto' although they can refer to the same thing. To newbs especially, the word 'crypto' can have bad vibes due to media coverage & spammers. 'Web3' actually sounds like what crypto is ultimately all about: building an abundant & fair future.
41/ The fact that NFTs have solved the problem of:
"someone can own it and pay the artist"
and
"everyone in the world can see it and enjoy it"
is a huge boom to the world, to art, to public goods and to making the world a better place.
