Times have changed; things are becoming challenging even for highly skilled individuals.
A thread you go through:
Proud to help lead this important bipartisan bill with @RepMcCormick & @CongressmanRaja to improve our immigrant visa system and ease the harsh effects of the immigrant visa backlog.
There has been no immigration reform for more than 30 years.
I have the only bipartisan solution introduced in Congress to solve all of our troubles.
My #DignityAct secures our border, gives dignity to the undocumented, and boosts our economy.
The Biden administration completely ignores immigrants who are attempting to do it the right way as they incentivize unlawful immigration. #greencardbacklog
The @catoinstitute launched https://t.co/8xRtWRZERe. It’s an online game that allows you to navigate the U.S. immigration system from an immigrant's perspective.

Reality for Indian employment-based immigrants. Even if October filing dates are made current, extended delay risks U.S. talent loss. Congress recognized AC-21 challenge 20 yrs ago, yet comprehensive solutions are needed. #ImmigrationReform#TalentRetention
Then, if someone pretends to care about the backlog and says something ridiculous such as “I oppose lifting per country limits unless there are more green cards so that everyone has access,” at least you know they are lying because they did not lift a finger to help here.
Immigration is a serious issue. And Congress is being run by too many unserious clowns. MAGA wasted a chance today to find solutions and instead, predictably chose chaos.
Between ever more competitive visa lotteries, a growing backlog of Green Cards and workers on H-1Bs who are laid off, putting their immigration status in a precarious state, immigrants are getting fed up with America. Canada is trying to take advantage https://t.co/M7LUJgFeXP
Our policy of excluding professionals with advanced degrees (EB-2) from becoming Americans if they were born in India is now broadening to exclude “priority workers” with “extraordinary abilities” or “outstanding professors or researchers” (EB-1) if they were born in India.
Merit should also be the focus of our employment-based immigration system, but instead it focuses on where someone was born, creating a 100-year wait for some and no wait for others.
If you’re an H-1B stuck in an endless green card line, set your alarm for July 16.
Canada now has an experimental program where they’ll give 10000 permanent residencies to engineers that the US is repelling.
Part of their new tech talent strategy.

@RepYvetteClarke Don't you see the hypocrisy in your tweet? You denied equal opportunity to immigrants based on their national origin. Stop showing racl$t behavior immigrants.
@RepYvetteClarke Here comes the virtue signaler again, after killing #EAGLEAct last congress and chest thumping that "we can do better"
Where are we with the "we can do better" after 6 months @RepYvetteClarke ??
It is my honor to invite @PMOIndia@narendramodi to address a Joint Meeting of Congress on Thursday, June 22nd.
This will be an opportunity to celebrate the enduring friendship between the United States and India and speak to the global challenges our countries both face.
The US admits about 200,000 international students from India every year. 4 years later, they graduate into a free-for-all fight for green cards.
Fewer than 3% will stay long term.
The student visa-to-green-card pipeline is broken, and it hurts everyone.
