I value taking the best player far more than tean fit, so it’s weighted more heavily. I’m also not expert on the roster construction of all 30 teams so I could be off for fit on a couple of these but it’s just how I see it.

- Clingan is heaver and has a longer reach
- Yang is lighter on his feet and a bit more explosive
- Stats per 36 are very similar, Clingan has better drfrnsive stats while Yang has the edge on assists

It’s rare to see a big man with the kind of feel, iq, touch, and skill that Yang has. I watched the full 30m combine scrimmage, and his iq/decision-making are elite. He also showed a considerable ability to defend on the perimeter. Love the pick.

Kel’el Ware Prospect Eval 🧵

Ware is possibly the best athlete in the entire draft. His reach combined with his explosiveness and agility give him a high ceiling from a physical standpoint. Offensively, he has some skill that make him an intruiging upside swing. Ware’s ability to shoot gives confidence that he won’t be benched due to an inability to stretch the floor as a big in the NBA. Defensively, his athleticism gives him a decent floor, but you would like to see more from him in terms of shot blocking and anticipation. The biggest thing that stands out watching Ware’s tape is that he just isn’t active or aggressive enough on offense or defense. On offense, he often ball watches and stands in the middle of the floor, instead of spacing/cutting or getting into an off ball action. On defense, he can be content to sit back guarding his man rather than be active trying to make a play. This manifests in a relatively low STOCKS per 36 number (2.8), which could be much higher in an athletic freak like Ware.

@NBA @Lakers Dalton’s film and athletic profile were both fantastic. Really no reason for him to fall to 17. NBA teams have consistently placed too much emphasis on age.

Dalton Knecht Prospect Eval 🧵

Knecht is a great athlete and a great shooter. It’s hard to imagine how that wouldn’t translate to an NBA offense. He shouldered a large offensive load at Tennessee, which resulted in high production and middling efficiency. He’s not elite off the dribble, and his vision/passing isn’t great either. On an NBA team, I would expect Knecht to be an elite off ball threat with his ability to shoot off the catch, to shoot on the move, to elevate in the midrange, and to cut for easy dunks. Despite being a great athlete, Knecht hasn’t really shown a lot of defensive flashes. The shotblocking timing and the anticipation for steals aren’t really there. He is capable of playing decent 1 on 1 defense due to his athleticism, but he is by no means lockdown. I have him ranked as my number 10 overall player.
