“Why do I keep trusting the wrong people?”
1. The Equipment Was Never Installed → Early wounds make toxic trust feel “normal.”
2. Not Learning from Experience → If you don’t spot patterns, you’ll repeat them.
3. Lack of Boundaries → Boundaries are your immune system.
4. Lack of Wisdom/Antibodies → Judging character is a life skill.
5. Lack of a Tribe → You need people who can see the red flags you can’t.
Trust is sacred. But when we hand it to the wrong people, it leaves scars.
Here are 5 reasons we fall for untrustworthy people—and how you can strengthen your “emotional immune system” against them.
Which of these five do you relate to most?
@Ryan_Daigler Well said as usual. It's gross to profit off her trauma but even worse not telling the truth about it. It's a cruel mocking of her looks now. I'm sure her self esteem crashed and she doesn't need more attacks.
@Benjaminlund I concur. I would dare to say all the generations are. What makes things worse is overall older generations are decreasing in discerment & lacking in modeling healthy decision making.
Avoidance feels safe, but it also keeps you stuck. That tough conversation, that habit you need to break, that step outside your comfort zone—whatever you’re putting off might be the very thing that unlocks your next level. Growth isn’t always easy, but it’s always worth it. What’s one thing you’ve been avoiding that could lead to a breakthrough or progress on your goals?
What I ask is the color of decency and respect for one another. When I ask will we stop using selected evidence as our pacifiers to call wrong right, and right wrong?
Sometimes when you’re in a dark place you think you’ve been buried, but actually you’ve been planted. Out of the struggle God will grow something new, something comfort could never produce.
@drantbradley@1EsseQuamVideri This person is not looking to help with solutions. They are not responding to understand but to somehow boast on the theories they know vs. what you are sharing. Ministries love to pat themselves on the back, which blindsided them to the depth of the issues at hand.
