On June 20th we honoured a Welsh woman snooker champion, Agnes Davies, in Saron, Carmarthenshire.
It was our 20th plaque and best attended yet.

Bernice Rubens: The first & only woman from 🏴 (to date!) to win the Booker Prize.

Bernice, who grew up in Cardiff, was the first woman to win the Booker Prize and remains the only Welsh winner.

Dorothy Miles was recently honoured with a Purple Plaque at her childhood home in Rhyl.
She was the first woman to write & perform deaf poetry, produced the BBC’s 'See Hear' programme & compiled the first teaching manual for BSL tutors
