Lady Rhondda is definitely the most privileged of the 5, but she is the 1st named woman of Gwent to have a monument & used her wealth & influence to fight for Women's & children's rights throughout her life.

Martha Hughes Cannon moved from a tiny 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 village to 🇺🇸 aged 2 - and went on to be the 1st woman state senator.

A trailblazer, who founded Utah’s 1st Board of Health & pioneered women’s rights, she’s the first Welsh person immortalized in the US Capitol - & only the 14th woman.
