PLAYERS PLAY. TOUGH PLAYERS WIN.
Tough players compete regardless of the circumstances. They play through situations. They keep playing in spite of poor officiating. They play tough when they are tired. They gut it out when adversity hits. They persevere. Tough players win.
PLAYERS: Making excuses about why you aren't in the gym, the weight room, or at training sessions usually leads to bad habits. These bad habits will be the same ones that lead you to make excuses during the season as to why you are underperforming!
PLAYERS: If your coach holds you accountable in the little things be grateful because that can set you up and move you toward achieving the big things you desire most!!
PLAYERS: Do you want more playing time? Make it impossible for the coach to sit you!!! Become a better teammate and more positive leader. Find ways to become more valuable to your team. Bring more value to your team. Make your teammates better. Make your team better.
Talent is what gets you noticed by a college coach. Your character, attitude, and energy are what keeps us coming back to watch you. Make sure the second is just as important as the first.
Your future is being decided right now by the habits you have. Decisions create a part of your future every day. Change bad habits & create great ones. Do the right things for your mind, body, health, academics & game. It’s necessary for future success. Don’t just say it. Do it!
When you don’t play as hard as you can every minute that you’re in the game, you’re making a selfish choice. You’re saying the outcome & your teammates don’t matter & aren’t important to you. Giving 100% & playing tough is the only right choice to make for yourself & your team!
We will still have workouts tonight rain or shine! If it is raining we will be in the auxiliary gym! Please bring tennis shoes or turf shoes if we are inside!
I can promise young athletes one thing: When you’re done playing sports, you’ll have plenty of time to play video games, hang out, and socialize.
You get one chance to make yourself the best player you can be, use your time wisely.
“If you go to class & you do average work - you get a C - that’s why it’s called average.
If you want a B - you have to do more work & if you want an A you have to do even more work.
You have to give up stuff - you have to sacrifice.”
