I’ve spent all July at AAU tournaments and I think a lot of kids have the game confused. Basketball IQ Is definitely at an all time low.
The best player on the floor will make everyone else around them better. It’s not about dropping 30 points or highlight tapes. If you’re talented, that stuff will take care of itself.
High school recruitment is at an all time low right now so it’s more important than ever to know how to play the game the right way. Drive and kicks, advancing the ball, extra passes, communication, reading screen coverages, etc…
For the kids: Ignore outside voices and trust your coaches who are preaching to you to play the right way.
17u players…for most of you, today is you last day playing AAU basketball. Your parents have spent thousands, used vacation time, worked in the car and from hotels, been nervous for you, and have had many sleepless nights. Thank them, hug them, tell them you love them.
This block by sophomore Kye Owens is the second overtime with VASJ down 76-75 in the final minute helped keep @VASJVikingsAD season alive, as they would go on to tie it 76-76 and move to a 3rd OT
I had a kid tell me “I’m trying out for a EYBL team, 2 SSB teams, and a few UA Rise teams” I said to myself…you won’t make this teams. Kids are delusional and don’t know how this works. Yall have to find people you trust and start listening.
If that D1 haven’t called yet they can’t call tomorrow because it’s dead period. Might as well answer the phone from that juco coach you been ignoring. Lol join the LakeShow ! 🌊
1 AAU team for 3 years, 1 high school, 1 college. Didn’t agree with everything and didn’t like everything but you ain’t moving or quitting. Dealt with it and overcame all of it. Built 💪🏾
