I had a great conversation with Mr Felex from Ruboni tourism village and they have over 150 Accomodation arrangements for the people coming for Rwenzori marathon
〽️TRANSFORMATION
From hard to reach… to fully open!
The Muyembe–Nakapiripirit Road [92km] has advanced in construction, unlocking access across Karamoja region and in particular to the Pian Upe Wildlife Reserve.
In the earlier days, reaching this wildlife reserve was a hurdle, even for wildlife!
It’s now a tourism gateway, bringing Uganda’s cheetah🐆 closer to the world and communities closer to opportunity.
✊🏽A demonstration of @GovUganda policy direction; prioritising infrastructure as a catalyst for connectivity, economic transformation and national competitiveness.

@1005kgr Turn that into an opportunity. Conserve the area and explore the values that change has come up with. I can help those locals and show them how
@wekesa_amos@Ugandawildlife@RwenzoriMarathn Thanks for sharing, Mr. Amos. The park's 16.5km access road from Nkenda (along Fort Portal-Kasese highway) to the gate (Mihunga) is bad. UWA should push for it's upgrade. Clients complain a lot
Eagle Stays: Each listed property undergoes a verification process to ensure accurate representation, fair pricing, and reliable communication.
This transparency benefits travelers and fosters healthy competition among facilities.
When facilities are visible side by side, service quality improves naturally. Hosts invest more in cleanliness, customer care, and responsiveness because the market rewards it.
Over time, this raises hospitality standards across Kasese, benefiting both visitors and residents. @eaglestaysug
Marketing Of Uganda
My flights arrived London Gatwick at 1850pm yesterday evening and I had my first networking evening after dropping my bags in my hotel room.
Am doing a roadshow under some Tanzanian tour operators, big names like Asilia, &beyond, tanganyika etc and will be meeting 48 English companies in the next 4 to 5 days.
A discussion about Angola and how aggressive they have come for the tourism space. They investing millions of dollars in marketing their tourism.
They clearly said, Angola is going to run out of accommodations due to demand and already serious investors are focusing on investing in Angola.
Remember what I told you, investment generally speaking follows opportunities and some of you have seen how this theory is playing out in kasese because of the @RwenzoriMarathn.
Of course they have hired some of the best PR firms like KPRN that marketed South Africa and Namibia for than 20 years, who have also set up marketing space here in the UK and Tim in the picture is one of them.
Just as an example, South Africa was receiving about 400k Germany tourists when KPRN was marketing them, Uganda on the other hand receives 4.2k German tourists according to 2024/2025 stats. 1% is miserable.
Tourism because it’s a money making space, it’s a controlled space and you must know how to navigate it, know who influences numbers and decision making for you to succeed.
I know those spaces and I know those contacts reason you see me on a few international Tòurism organizations, I have been blessed to learn and listen to those that influence the game.
Over years, when I tell people what we can do and who we can do it with, they quickly say Oh he will influence numbers to only himself, they will only market him, they miss the big picture thinking.
To many not all, we better remain small than allow Amos Wekesas ideas and that for me, has been one of the greatest let down. I also tell them to find someone who knows the space so they can listen to them.
Basically when Uganda grows, I will grow too. I have the knowledge on how things work because I have invested in time and resources. No single Ugandan tour operator can handle more 4k tourists now unless you include accommodations etc.
So if we target 100k tourists from the UK as an example up from 10k Uganda got 24/25 every tour operator will have better chances but that requires efforts of people who know how to navigate the space and others just position themselves.
A good example is Kasese and @RwenzoriMarathn , at most Simba safari camp and Elephant plains lodge have only 30 rooms, they are even full for 2026 @RwenzoriMarathn season already. Of course other kasese accommodations are receiving bookings already too for 2026.
If we get 7k runners in 2026, I will accommodate 60 people only and kasese, Fortportal , ishaka , bushenyi etc will accommodate 6940 runners. I don’t own entertainment places, fuel stations, Bodas, shops, tourism activities etc.
And I push hard for kasese because I have personal interest in the area too. When kasese grows, I also grow . Don’t expect someone who has no personal interest to push hard an agenda unless forced. Doesn’t work like that.
Thankfully, the people of kasese understand that bit and they ask me always how they can tap into those opportunities. And I hope someday we improve on our thinking as players in the industry.
