#PurusKernel update: the geometry engine just got faster and more reliable.
This development cycle, #PurusKernel — the independent CAD/BIM geometry engine being built from scratch in India — passed a major reliability milestone.
The engine now runs 11.5× faster on core geometry calculations, with results that match the previous, slower version exactly — so the speed came with zero loss in accuracy.
To prove it, the engine was tested against nearly 14,000 automated scenarios and 18 deliberately broken test cases — and caught every single one.
Progress also landed on how the engine handles curved surfaces meeting each other — one of the hardest problems in 3D geometry software, and a step toward matching what decades-old commercial kernels already do.
Still working through a few remaining edge cases — and being upfront about exactly which ones, same as always.

India doesn't have an independent CAD/BIM geometry kernel. So I'm building one — from scratch.
Every major CAD tool today runs on a licensed foreign kernel: #Parasolid (#Siemens), #ACIS (#Dassault), #OpenCASCADE (France). Even #India's own #CollabCAD (#NIC) is built on Open CASCADE.
#PurusKernel is different — a boundary-representation (B-rep) solid modeling engine written in pure C++ and DirectX, with zero third-party geometry SDK. Every boolean, curve, and surface routine is original code.
The first application built on it, #PurusCAD, takes IFC files and converts them into fabrication-ready MEP spool drawings — ducts, pipes, cable tray — for small fabrication shops currently priced out of enterprise tools.
