Unpopular opinion - I want to gatekeep Marathi cuisine. I don't want people to discover Kothimbir Vadi or Thaleepith and make Kothimbir Vadi Kofta Butter Malai or Cheese infested Thaleepith with Truffle oil on it. 😜
There’s a peculiar helplessness in watching the world race ahead in AI while being unable to participate at the frontier because of constraints completely outside one’s control.
I am done with this shit. It is over. The state of engineering right now is horrible. It has been half a month since I started a new role at a big company. Nobody knows anything here. The specs, code, tests, PRDs, tickets, resolution of those tickets, reports, etc., everything is made by Claude Code. Nobody on my team likes this. They are being forced to ship as much as they can. I have heard multiple times from higher management that pushing code is not a bottleneck, so why are we slow? People are working 12 to 13 hours a day just to press enter. Nobody is reading anything. Humans in corporate are doing nothing on their own. Everyone, literally everyone, from an L1 to an L7 engineer here is doing the same thing. Talk to Claude. There is no sense of victory. Nobody is resolving bugs. In reality, nobody is thinking anymore. Everything is done by LLMs. It is so soul-sucking. I would not mind it, to be honest, if we were at least given the time to check out the code and see what is going where. But no, the goal is to just ship. No matter what happens.
A US frontier AI lab (TypeSafe AI) just announced a "breakthrough" System 1 architecture. The problem? An independent Indian developer built, published, and open-sourced the exact same single-pass RL architecture a full year ago.
The frontier lab generalized it, slapped a new acronym on it, and claimed it as a novel invention. The open-source community keeps doing the heavy lifting in the shadows. This is why we need to be wary of corporates!

What is the purpose of higher education in the age of AI?
I had a very candid conversation with my students about pedagogy, universities, and what needs to change.
Sharing it here to hear what others think. The link for the full talk is in the first reply.
If still after such statement... people want to buy flats in these remote under developed areas, salaried class need to rethink and put a restrain ...
Esp with the current job market... God knows who and how ppl are still buying and investing...
Hinjawadi MLA Shankar Mandekar on a boy's pothole death in Pune: "If there are roads, accidents are bound to happen." He'd earlier asked residents, "Didn't you see how the roads were here when buying a flat?" Outrage grows over the remarks.
Got this video of 2017 when Hinjewadi traffic issue was covered by one Marathi channel but not published. We pursued IT park issues since 2011 with state and central Government.
This video taken by my friend. All problems and some solutions mentioned in this.
It was a thing a decade now. More than that actually. More of a nuisance now.
Mutha River in the heart of Pune & Punekars.
Does it really need any beautification?
NO.
It's too beautiful on its own.
Just don't dump sewage in it,
Don't throw garbage in it,
Don't cut the trees along it,
Don't pour concrete in it.

The man in the in this picture can be easily mistaken for a great priest !!! No!
He is Dr. C P. Mathew who was the Head of the Oncology Department at Kottayam Medical College and later principal. On the 'right' is Brahmashree Suryan Subramanian Bhattathiri.
📷Dr Mathew was the first oncology professor in Kerala, Head of the Oncology Department at Kottayam Medical College and then the principal. Later when he retired he was a flying doctor and visiting professor of allopathic cancer treatment at universities in more than 50 countries.
📷At the age of 60, he decided to unlearn everything he had learnt earlier and accepted a _Lada Vaidyan_ (a physician of traditional tribal medical system), whom he met on the street, as his guru.
📷Then this great doctor saved tens of thousands of cancer patients from death using the neo-pagan Siddha medicine he learned from the late _lada_ guru. Patients he saved include many rejects ftom the Mayo Clinic in America.
📷He was an in-depth student on Indian cultural texts, including the Vedas and the Upanishads. What's more, he received the Upanayana from Suryakaladi Mana, famous for its "Tantric rituals" and spent the rest of his life as a Sanatana Dharma Acharya.
📷Dr Mathew passed away on 20 Oct 2021 at the age of 92. No leading media in Kerala reported his death due to unknown reasons.

When ignorance becomes a source of confidence, every library starts looking like a scam
History has never been kind to people who thought they knew everything before learning anything
Comparing Jyotisha with unicorns only shows that the person has never taken the time to understand what it is. Whether one accepts it or not is a separate matter. The sages who developed these systems spent lifetimes studying mathematics, astronomy and observation. The least a critic can do is understand the subject before declaring it a scam. That's how honest criticism works.
You don't need to believe in Jyotisha. But if your standard is "I don't need to learn something before calling it a scam," then every science, philosophy and legal system can be dismissed the same way. That's not logic; that's an opinion.
And science is not verified by opinions.
