If a person gets into MBBS through reservation and, even after 5½ years of medical training, still can’t secure basic qualifying marks for PG, forcing PG cutoffs to be pushed down to minus 40, then reservation at the MBBS level was pointless. It didn’t empower anyone.

Saw a video this morning of a Dogra man from a border town in Jammu saying, 'We've evacuated our kids, women, and elderly, but the men will stay to assist the Army.'

People living in India's border cities deserve applause. While the rest of us sit comfortably, discussing "tensions at the border" like it's just another headline, they live under the constant threat of war and attacks.

They hear the sirens. They’ve seen what shelling looks like. And yet, they stay. Their presence itself upholds our sovereignty. They open shops, send kids to school, go about life as normally as possible, not because they’re unaware of the risks, but because this is their home and they refuse to be pushed out by fear. In 2024, 2.4 lakh Indians visited Azerbaijan and 3.3 lakh went to Turkey, two Islamic nations that have openly and predictably sided with Pakistan.

I see no reason why any patriotic Indian should spend their money there.

Instead, consider visiting their regional rivals, Armenia and Greece, countries that have shown genuine support and friendship toward India. Let’s reward our allies, not our adversaries.

हरिद्वार में जितने भी घाट हैं वहां मुख्य रूप से हिंदू माता बहनें स्नान करती हैं, घाटों पर मंदिर भी हैं, पूजा अर्चना भी की जाती है, कई घाट आश्रमों से भी जुड़े हुए हैं।

हालांकि घाटों की संख्या अधिक है पर कुछ ही घाटों पर जालीदार टोपी वाले लोग 10-12 का झुंड बना कर मौका देखते हुए आते हैं और बैठ जाते हैं, कई बार कॉमेंट भी पास करते हुए निकल जाते हैं।

ना ही मंदिर से, ना ही पूजा से, ना ही आश्रमों से इनका कोई लेना देना है पर हिंदू महिलाओं को स्नान करते देखना, घाट पर वहीं जम कर बैठ जाना ये आज से 3 साल पहले भी काफी नॉर्मल था..

केवल एक दिन नहीं बल्कि हर रोज ऐसे घटनाएं हरिद्वार व ऋषिकेश के घाटों पर होती थी, वर्तमान में बिना किसी भय के इन घटनाओं को अंजाम दे रहे हैं। आज एक व्यक्ति बोला है, सबको बोलना होगा, हमारे धार्मिक स्थल पिकनिक स्पॉट नहीं है।
