The very idea behind Sikhism was to reject social hierarchies like the caste system. Yet I’m surprised to see that even today, many Sikhs are still identified by labels such as Jat, Ramgarhia, Arora, and others. It suggests that caste-based thinking remains deeply embedded in the subconscious of Indian society, even when religions sought to move beyond it.

I interviewed a developer today - strong concepts, above average communication skills and reasonable problem solving ability. At the end of the discussion, when I asked him - what sort of AI tools do you use in your day to day work.
His answer was - 'Using AI is cheating, and I don't cheat.'
I gave him some examples of how it helps ship code faster, improves code quality and eliminates mundane work - but he kept insisting - 'It is against my ethics' to do that. I then gave him an assignment and asked him for an estimate - he said it would take 2-3 days.
In the next 15 minutes, I solved the assignment in front of him using Claude Code and also refined my solution multiple times. His answer still was - 'This is cheating and I don't endorse it'.
That was that.
While I appreciate his skills, I rejected him - if as a developer, you're not willing to learn AI - no matter how good you are, I bet you'll not have a job in the future.
The opportunity is now or never.
Indian parents in the U.S. often push their kids to chase straight A’s without realizing that learning is more important than grades. Curiosity, critical thinking, resilience, and mental well-being matter far more in the long run. A report card is temporary. A child’s life and love of learning are not.

Was ethanol blending in petrol a scientific decision, a financial decision, or a political one? If it’s scientific, show us the data. If it’s financial, explain the economics. If it’s political, be honest about it. Citizens deserve transparency-not assumptions.
Indian education teaches students to fear mistakes. American education teaches students to learn from them.
Fear produces conformity. Learning produces innovation.
One mindset helped build a ~$100,000-per-capita economy. The other is still struggling around ~$2,500.
If you punish every mistake, don’t be surprised when people stop taking risks.
I got my DNA analysis done and discovered I carry the fast-twitch muscle fiber gene often associated with elite sprinters and power athletes. Yet it never even crossed my mind to become an athlete. My parents, like many in India, believed athletes struggle, have no future, and should focus only on academics.
If that’s the mindset of millions of families, how can India ever hope to build a world-class football team capable of competing at a future World Cup? Talent alone isn’t enough. Belief has to come first.
As a Muslim Afghan, I’m praying for this hero. He is the only person who truly understands how dangerous the Pakistan is to humanity.
Dear World: Listen to this man before it’s too late.
Last night VIJYANT THAPAR my son fought dutifully for the country's honour but he was not destined to see the beautiful Sunrise on the 29 jun 99 & thereafter. However his legacy has continued to inspire the soldiers and the youth of the country. Love you son. Mother
Yah I was just in India for 2 weeks and Indians are some of the nicest people I have ever met in my life.
They are so kind, generous and I will take a 100 Hindus over 10 Muslims any day.
