As the Hindutva vs Hinduism debate rages in India, never forget what academics from 50+ leading universities in India, US, Canada and Europe said about the difference between the two concepts. Hint-they are the same.. https://t.co/InZ4sASn3y
BREAKING: Didn't attend the @dghconference? Don't worry, our research team did!
Was the conference about Dismantling Hindutva or Hinduism? See for yourself.
Here's a recap 👇🏾

"Watch Kanhaiya Lal's beheading. You will receive the same fate. It is your turn now. Even Modi won't be able to save you."
Scary threats to Hindu seer @drsumanandgiri because of his views. This cannot be normalised anymore. @HMOIndia should immediately provide him security.
Hey @Ilhan won’t you “raise alarms” at the *actual genocide* of ethnic minorities in Islamic countries like Pakistan or grooming gangs in the UK? Cause otherwise you are just exposing yourself as an anti-India/ Hindu propaganda mouthpiece 🤡🤡
So distinctly Indian that Europeans had to use a Portuguese word to describe it. Why did they have such a word? Commies don't have the brains to ask such a question.

MIRPURIS OF BRITAIN & KASHMIRIS OF PoJK ARE "INDIAN AGENTS" - Khawaja Mohammad Asif, Defense Minister (Pakistan)
Khawaja Mohammad Asif, the so called Defense Minister of Pakistan dubbs ethnic Pahari Pothwari, Hindko and Gojri Muslim community of Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), which the state of Pakistan calls 'Azad Kashmir" as "DIRTY INDIAN AGENTS".
He even passes condescending comments on the British Mirpuri Muslim community, which also originally hails from PoJK.
In a sign of rapidly deteriorating relations between the ethnic Pahari Pothwari, Hindko & Gojri Muslim community of PoJK and the ethnic Punjabi Muslim dominated state of Pakistan, the "Kashmiris" of PoJK join the latest non-Punjabi Muslim ethnic minority community of Pakistan to rebel against the hegemony of ethnic Punjabi speaking Pakistani Muslim ruling elite.
Already, Baloch, Pashtun and Sindhi Muslim ethnic minorities of Pakistan have been at odds with the numerically dominant ethnic Punjabi Muslim community of Pakistan that controls most of Pakistan's Army, ISI and civilian government.
MIRPURI MUSLIMS are subsets of Pahari Pothwari /Gojri Muslim/Hindko communities of PoJK, which are ethnically and linguistically different from Koshur speaking Kashmiri Muslim community of India's Kashmir Valley, but are often referred to as "KASHMIRIS" of PoJK. These include ethnic groups like Rajput Muslims, Jat Muslims, Mughals, Gujjar and Bakarwal nomadic tribe, Sudhans, Awans and Dhunds. Ethnic Koshur speaking Kashmiri Muslim constitute only 5% of total 4 million population of PoJK, most of whom live in Neelum & Leepa valley bordering Indian Kashmir's Baramulla district.
MIRPURI MUSLIMS of Britain have been at the forefront of pushing Punjabi Muslim dominated state of Pakistan's propaganda on Kashmir. About 60% to 80% of the so-called British Pakistani community comprises MIRPURI MUSLIMS of PoJK only. They even dominate the British Parliament and Labour Party government.
MIRPURI MUSLIMS have been doing the dirty work of Pakistan on Kashmir for decades and TODAY, the same Punjabi Muslim dominated state of Pakistan has now turned against them.
At the heart of this Pakistan state betrayal of MIRPURI MUSLIMS lies, Jammu and Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee or JKJAAC, an umbrella organisation of social, religious, civil society, trade, student and lawyers organisation of PoJK, whose leaders have been spearheading movement for rights of the people of PoJK under what JKJAAC calls - "38 point charter of demands" that range from basic civil necessities like subsidised wheat and cheap electricity to electoral reforms like abolition of legislative seats of so called "Kashmiri Refugees" in legislative assembly of PoJK.
Pakistan's ethnic Punjabi speaking Army Chief - Asim Munir has been totally unsympathetic towards demands of JKJAAC and his response has been largely to crush, intimidate and supress the dissent in PoJK by using brutal force for which he has been sending notorious Punjab Corp division of Pakistani paramilitary force called - RANGERS, which is driven solely from ethnic Punjabi speaking Pakistani Punjabi Muslim community.
Last week's bloody massacre of ordinary civilians of PoJK in Rawalakot is part of the Pakistani state operation to force the people of PoJK into submission for which Pakistan's state propaganda machine is working overtime to target JKJAAC and the British MIRPURI MUSLIM community.
As an ethnic Koshur speaking Indian Kashmiri Muslim from India's Kashmir Valley, I extend my full solidarity with my brothers and sisters of PoJK including my British Mirpuri Muslim community, who also have origin in PoJK, in their collective fight against the brutal oppression by the state of Pakistan.
JAI HIND JAI BHARAT 🙏

The cost of blowing a whistle!
Respected @KanoongoPriyank ji, as a concerned citizen of this country, our intention was only to raise an alarm on this subject and bring it to @cbseindia29's attention.
But instead of being rewarded, the school management and Jalna Police are threatening us with FIRs.
Please don't allow them to normalize 'STSJ' slogans, and that too involving kids.
Requesting cognizance. 🙏
@AnkitM997 You should read what some senior scholars write about caste system (CS) in China. The current memes are obv sarcastic but CS in China is a harsh reality. Its not explored by many scholars cuz CCP obv won't allow foreign scholars to conduct such studies. In India, scholars can do
America 250: What does it mean to be a Hindu American? Ganesh Ramakrishnan details how the American ideals of liberty, equality, justice, and the pursuit of happiness find parallels within Hindu thought, in a thought-provoking piece. @IndiaAbroad_
"Dharma teaches responsibility, ethical conduct, and service to society. It encourages individuals to pursue excellence while remaining mindful of their obligations to family, community, and nation.
The Hindu spiritual journey emphasizes the search for truth and self-realization. Likewise, the American experiment has always championed freedom of thought, conscience, and belief.
Both traditions place tremendous faith in the dignity and potential of the individual.
America celebrates freedom. Dharma teaches how freedom can be exercised responsibly."

EXCLUSIVE:
During Annual Day programme of Kids World English School in Partur, Jalna — school children danced on the Pakistani song of "Gustakh Nabi Ki Ek Saza..." with dummy swords.
In the background, they had celebrated with photo of Pakistani terrorist Mumtaz Qadri, who had assassinated Pakistan's Punjab Governor — as he had spoken in defence of a Christian woman Asia Bibi, accused of blasphemy.
This school claims to be affiliated with CBSE board ( @cbseindia29), and allegedly is promoting extremist ideology amongst children.
We urge @NCPCR_ to immediately take cognizance of the matter, and direct security agencies to investigate it and take appropriate action.

The myth of the uncivil Indian is theirs to own, not ours!
In my latest think-piece "A west-created myth of the uncivil Indian" for @htTweets , I argue that while India must fix its civic flaws, “self-improvement need not become self-abasement.” Having lived half my life abroad and travelled to 75 + countries, I’ve seen India praised for its warmth, diversity and Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam spirit—yet a single clip of litter or loud voices is turned into the verdict that “Indians lack civic sense.” “Food is identity,” whether it’s khakhras on Swiss slopes or baguettes in Delhi; mockery turns culture into caricature. “No civilisation has a monopoly on eccentricity or civic virtue.” Europe fights football riots, New York battles subway vandalism, Singapore fines, Japan schools, China blacklists—proof that “civic order is engineered.”
India’s answer is perspective plus discipline: Delhi Metro etiquette, Indore’s spotless streets, citizen beach clean-ups and Mahakumbh 2025 sanitation show that “civic virtue needs civic architecture.” “Civic sense is not a birth-mark” but a habit built by families, schools, laws and systems. India must keep building those systems—and reject the lie that its faults are uniquely Indian. “The myth of the uncivil Indian is theirs to own, not ours. It diminishes them, not us.”

In Hammersmith, London, a Muslim sees an Indian restaurant and bar that says "Proudly Non-Halal." He calls for violence: "How can I be walking around in Hammersmith and see this on a shop. Guys, find this shop; it has to go away." A Non-Halal shop should be none of his business. The restaurant is meant for Non Muslims who want meat from animals slaughtered in the least painful manner. He can choose not to eat here. But instead he is threatening a Non Muslim establishment with a view towards 100% Islamisation one day. Thanks to British immigration, he has tasted success with Sharia Zones in Birmingham. And now he wants to expand the Sharia Zones to the rest of England.
As an Indian Christian, Indian first and Christian second, I view questions from US lawmakers on India’s new FCRA guidelines as an overreach. Their concern would be better directed toward the erosion of religious values within their own society. Forceful conversions and conversions through allurement are not genuine expressions of faith; they pose a national security challenge by seeking to alter India’s social and religious demographics through external influence and inducement.
During a dangerous ice storm in North Carolina, gas station owner Hitesh Patel was supposed to close at 10 p.m. Instead, he kept his store open all night so stranded travelers would have a warm and safe place to stay.
Among those sheltering inside were a young mother traveling with four children and other motorists who could no longer safely drive on the icy roads.
One traveler later shared the story online, saying they would have been freezing in their car if not for Patel's kindness.
Sometimes the people who make the biggest difference are the ones who quietly choose to help when others need it most
This is exactly the point I keep making.
We Indians are the only people on earth who take a few bad apples and turn it into a verdict on our entire country.
Someone behaves badly in public, and within seconds it becomes "Indians have no civic sense, we give India a bad name."
We do not even wait for the world to judge us. We rush to do it ourselves, loudly.
So let me hold up the same mirror to the rest of the world.
Just two weeks ago, PSG won the Champions League. This was their second title in a row, beating Arsenal on penalties. A back to back European crown, one of the biggest things that can happen to a football club.
So how did Paris, one of the most cultured cities on the planet, celebrate?
They set cars on fire. They vandalised and looted shops. They lit fires in the streets. A group even tried to storm a police station.
Across France, 890 people were arrested in one night. More than 200 were injured. A young man died after crashing his bike into concrete barriers during the chaos.
France had to put 8,000 police on the streets just to manage a party.
And this was not even the worst of it. When PSG won their first title the year before, two people died, 264 cars were burned, and a police officer was hit in the face by fireworks and put into an induced coma.
Now ask yourself one simple question.
Did anyone write "the French have no civic sense"? Did anyone say France should be ashamed, that the French give their country a bad name?
No. Their own President tweeted "a new star is shining over Paris." The whole thing got filed under passion. Under joy. Under boys being boys.
Take another one. In February 2025, Philadelphia won the Super Bowl. Their fans ripped traffic light poles clean out of the ground and carried them down the road. They set fires in the street. They climbed on dump trucks. They threw bottles at police. Dozens were arrested. And at the playoff celebration just weeks before that, an 18 year old fell off a lamp post and died, and that same night there were shootings, a stabbing, and a car that drove straight into the crowd.
This is one of the richest cities in the richest country in the world.
And again, nobody said "Americans are uncivilised." Nobody said America should hang its head.
It was reported as a wild, passionate, beautiful night. Everyone moved on.
When a Western crowd burns cars, tears down public property, and people actually die, the world calls it energy, love, raw emotion.
When an Indian does something far smaller, the world, and worse, we ourselves, call it proof that a billion people have no manners and no culture.
I am not saying bad behaviour is fine. It is selfish, it is annoying, and you should call it out, firmly. Bad behaviour is bad behaviour, in Delhi, in Paris, in Philadelphia.
But the rule has to be the same for everyone. If burning cars and storming a police station in Paris is just passion, then a small bit of celebration in Vietnam is, at absolute worst, a small bit of inconvenience. It is not evidence that our civilisation has failed.
Other countries guard their self image fiercely.
A French fan burns a car and still calls his people the most cultured in Europe. An American tears down a traffic pole and still walks around certain he is from the greatest country on the planet.
And then we find one bad clip and use it to confirm a sad little story we have somehow been taught to believe about ourselves.
So the next time you see one Indian behaving badly and feel that urge to say "this is why we are a third world country," stop.
We do not need the world to look down on us.
Vote Today or tomorrow's in CA14 Special Election. As a reminder, this is what is on the line:
A Fremont high schooler wrote me a letter detailing how polarization now divides former friends and classmates. This needs to stop.
Career politicians use divisive polarization to win elections, divide communities and gridlock government. We cannot let them win.
We can't work together, and move our communities and country forward if we can't talk to each other.
Join us. Vote by June 16.
