Released Israeli hostage Yocheved Lifshitz said her captors from the G@za ruling armed group had shown "care" and "gentleness" at a press conference in Tel Aviv. As she was being handed over to the International Red Cross, Lifshitz stopped to shake one of her captor's hands to say farewell with the words "peace." The 85-year-old was released by the armed group after 17 days on "humanitarian grounds" following her violent arrest on 7 October during the unprecedented Palestinian offensive deep into Israeli territory. "we went underground and walked for kilometers in wet tunnels, for two or three hours in a spider web of tunnels." – Lifshitz reported. Another 200 hostages are believed to be in the tunnels under G@za as the clock ticks towards a major Israeli ground invasion of the G@za Strip. The G@za ruling group said a halt to "random bombings, the total destruction, the genocide" was a precondition for releasing civilian prisoners, an offer Israel did not budge on.
