Taxes are a social contract, not a coercive burden. We pay because we expect something in return: better roads, better schools, better healthcare and a government that is accountable. If taxes rise, we have every right to ask: what will this mean for me? Will my quality of life improve? Will corruption decline? Will this burden be matched by greater transparency and equity?

A higher tax, without a visible increase in public welfare, feels like theft disguised as duty. It’s not patriotism to accept this silently, it’s negligence. My frustration comes from seeing how often taxes in this country fail to translate into tangible benefits. How can you expect people to pay more, when so much is lost to inefficiency & corruption? 🤠
