It’s getting hot in here! The library will be closed Wednesday, July 17th as temperatures are already hitting over 90° in parts of the building. We’ll reopen as usual at 10am on Thursday. Online reading group registration will open at 8am tomorrow as planned.
In my latest article for GoLocalProv I wrote about historic RI artist Esther Pressoir. Thanks @NoteArtHerstory for putting this story on my radar.
See Pressoir’s work at @RISDMuseum and @pvdAth!

Summer hours start now! So if you want to stop by to check out The Baked Bean Supper Murders (a recent delightful find in the card catalog) or other books, visit us Tues - Sat, 10-6. The library will reopen on Sundays after Labor Day.
Get your milk and bread, Rhode Islanders! Looks like we’re in for a bunch of snow. The library will be closed tomorrow 2/13 due to the winter weather. A reminder we’re also closing at 2pm this Saturday 2/17 for a private event.
Brilliant reception for @djtaylorwriter at the stunning @pvdAth, ending our whistlestop East Coast tour in style! Thanks to the members, Matt and the whole team for making us so welcome last night.
Reading groups have been announced! Check out all the offerings at https://t.co/MvcgCNdoL7 and mark your calendar for registration on 7/19 at 8am. Participation offered exclusively to members, so please consider joining the Ath if you want to join a group!
Tomorrow is the last day of the Ath's fiscal year! Would you consider making a tax-deduct gift to help us continue to enrich the mind, inspire the spirit, and elevate the public discourse? Your support means so much. If you'd like to give, visit https://t.co/mgEQXS3RaO. 🙏
Construction is moving along as scheduled, and the mezzanine is now open to members for browsing and study! We hope you don't mind that we had to stash some of our plant friends up here 🌿🌱🪴
@phileil @fntpvd Legend has it that you’ll always return to Providence (or, alternately, never leave Rhode Island) if you drink from the fountain outside the @pvdAth
