miami is a decent at best team. even if they run the table and enter the tournament unbeaten, they will be an underdog in their first round game and get boatraced by like 7 seeded clemson.
celebrating a "good" crowd and students showing up for a 9 point loss to a decent team that is one loss away from being on the bubble is fucking loser behavior. sorry.
@CurryHicksSage im gonna try and really relish this last year in the a10, because it will never be the same again and i truly cant see myself caring nearly as much. unless, as you said, we are killing it and routinely making tournaments. but, you know, umass...plus, even if so, its devalued imo.
@CurryHicksSage i legit cant think about it without becoming so deeply bummed out. at least the potential death of umass sports seems to be coinciding with the overall death of college sports. its one of the few things where the "man, it was just better when i was a kid" take is valid.
Mountain West notifies the MAC of its interest in NIU & Toledo as football-only members in 2026, sources told @ActionNetworkHQ. This adds Central Time Zone to MW, potentially increasing future media rights value. NIU & Toledo have combined for 7 of last 13 MAC titles. MW currently has 7 football members but would still need 2 full-time members in addition to NIU & Toledo
something i have noticed...all the commitment graphics and marketing material put out by the AD has featured the script U. yet we've only worn it a handful of times over the last few years. why isnt that just our primary uniform at this point? it seems even the dept wants it!
@SLuddecke93 truly, i say this every year. once the season starts in november i inevitably get sucked back in. though i do think (at least for me) the mac will accelerate the process.
@CurryHicksSage there are 5 blue bloods IMO. in order of no doubtedness: unc, kansas, duke, uconn, kentucky. i think you need to have won a title in the lifetime of the players on your team.
