I am constantly checking out new retro handheld tech just for fun and to give to friends, and I ordered this thing when it was announced not even really thinking I’d love it since I already have a jailbroken 3DS.

This device running Cocoon is the first real step up I’ve felt in this space for a long time. So many new handhelds I’ve gotten are like “it’s good, but” and I’d still occasionally use other handhelds. But this one almost instantly became my go-to.

The hype for it is because it really is that good.
