He/him
The Spurs just aren't ready. Other players made dreadful plays and decisions. But Fox is definitely the guy they're turning to for experience and he's been brutal.
Dolan was sooooo close…
He had generated positive PR (one of the few times in the two decades he’s wowed the team) by just keeping quiet and letting the Knicks success speak for itself.
But he just couldn’t leave well enough alone.
First, he invites Trump to MSG, which infuriates and inconveniences countless fans.
Now he gets in a pissing contest with the Mayor and police commissioner.
Injecting unnecessary drama, negativity and dissension into what had been an incredibly unifying communal experience
I don't understand... last three years I been hearing how the game plan against Wemby is to beat him up and get physical... teams did and he got zero calls. Now he fighting back showing teams try it if you want to... and now people clutching their pearls lol.
@Jones11_ I respect that perspective and I recognize the challenges you mentioned. Player alignment would be a major issue. My position flows from the fact that I don't see better solutions for this chaos and IMO the NCAA has outlived it's usefulness if it ever had one beyond exploitation.
NCAA shouldn't be able to just create rules about how you live your life. Obviously the Sorsby news shows they're in a bad spot, and I agree with all the slippery slope discourse. But the only remedy to get this under control exists through player unions & collective bargaining.
Don’t listen to #those people who are complaining about NIL in college sports.
The biggest problem by far is that the NCAA has ZERO power and can’t enforce their own rules
@Jones11_ You against unions? The power you describe exists for the few, not the many. The benefits would be the same as most unions, player protections against injury, exploitation, and/or mistreatment. Fairer compensation across the board. Actual workers rights and accountability.
The NCAA was created to exploit the players. Full stop. There is no moral high ground where they should be viewed as anything other than organized crime. This is all a long overdure reckoning and it's one media and fans are still grasping. The NCAA aren't the good guys, ever.
@Jones11_ I disagree. Top players (earners) would reject a union and rightfully so. But that's not the vast majority of D-1 players where the median NIL payment is still less than $1,000. Where I would agree is the NCAA has little to no leverage and them getting any would be lockout ugly.
@Jones11_ It's about overreach and to what degree the NCAA or high school (yikes) has the right to, without agreed upon and enforceable language, tell people what they can and can't do. This looks and feels bad, but if the solution is just let the NCAA make the rules, that ain't the way.
The reality is straight-forward. The NCAA doesn't get to have it's own sports fiefdom where it just makes up rules as it pleases (as it benefits their interests). Authorize unions and collectively bargain the ground rules. But at this point, the player leverage is incredible.
As disastrous a ruling as there has ever been in modern sports. The pathway is now clear: gamble as much as you like, including on your own team and hope you are--or get--good enough that you can lawyer up down the line. A much bigger disaster than anything with NIL or portal.
My co-worker is from Queens. Huge Knicks fan. I'm all-in in solidarity with my guy. Gonna be tough. I'll be watching Karl Anthony-Towns. With Mitchell limited, If he can hang in there defensively, Knicks got a shot. Tall task... literally lol.
Both coordinators have mentioned Josh "keeping it light". They've definitely worked to make sure it didn't come off as a slight, but it is interesting to me. Both came from Denver where Payton seems absolutely no-nonsense. It's a subtle press conference theme I'll be watching.
Bills offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael on working with Josh Allen:
"He's got a great personality. He likes to keep it light, but when it's time to get serious, he does. .. And, obviously, his ability."
I disagree with his last statement, that the Belichick/Brady teams didn't do this. They most certainly did and brought in Randy Moss who was littered with a bad reputation. Only difference is Moss came from a bad team. Moss's first season, he was unstoppable and they made the SB.
I don't like Diggs the guy off the field, but I was unbothered by how he moved when he was in Buffalo. His recent case felt flimsy and idk what to make of it. There's probably too much baggage, but he'd be an upgrade.
