Mahboubeh Shabani, 33, was arrested after the January uprising in Mashhad. She helped injured protesters get medical care.

Now she has been sentenced to death and was transferred to solitary confinement in Vakilabad Prison.
After an audio message from prison,she was beaten and restrained to a hospital bed.

The French Resistance called her "Bettie".

Her title was Mother Superior.

Her convent concealed weapons and people the Nazis wanted to deport.

In Lyon, Élise Rivet sheltered Jewish women and children, helped fugitives obtain false papers, and hid arms and ammunition for the Resistance. Known in religious life as Mother Élisabeth, she also worked with the Ajax intelligence network.

In March 1944, the Gestapo arrested her. Prison. Interrogations. Deportation to Ravensbrück.

She became prisoner 46921.

But even there, she kept helping others. She shared her meager food and helped secretly redistribute clothing and shoes to prisoners. Women of different faiths - and none - called her "Mother".

On March 30, 1945, Good Friday, she was murdered in the gas chamber. Accounts describe her voluntarily joining condemned women rather than abandoning a fellow prisoner.

She was 55. In 1996, Yad Vashem recognized her as Righteous Among the Nations.

Remember the woman who comforted prisoners. Remember, too, the Resistance operative who hid weapons and helped save Jewish lives.

Her name was Élise Rivet.

Let me ask a direct question - why do some people see these two men as bastians of society, leaders of a vital movement to make the UK a better, safer, more prosperous place?

Danny Tommo tried to kidnap someone at knifepoint because he believed they had £10,000 worth of the cocaine he was dealing. There are also strong allegations, and court records, that he was also involved in a domestic abuse case against his former partner, along with recordings of him saying he mistreated her so badly she became a crack addict. He is currently facing multiple charges dating back from April, along with his current charges. He is a career criminal.

Tommy Robinson is a known drug addict, who boasted about being able to score drugs everywhere he went. He has been convicted on multiple occasions of violent crime, along with fraud, and several other offences.

This isn't some conspiracy or rumour. These are facts about these men. Violent serial criminals.

So, to anyone who supports these men, including elected MPs: explain how they are making Britain safer for women and children. What exactly about attempted kidnapping, drug dealing, violent crime, fraud and drug addiction represents the values you want for this country?

Do you condone that conduct, or do your standards not apply when the criminal shares your politics?

Tell me what makes these men role models. Would you want your own children to grow up like them?
