@LlehSaDerob@RhockoHarrison Unsure why I said 'all media' I will pull back on that, my point is definitely based on Shonen Jump manga or all media that I personally have seen
@LlehSaDerob@RhockoHarrison Only other series that clears these 'conditions' of sorts is Eren. Eren also has unique aspects that make him a 'novelty' in this aspect too. I don't believe Eren existing makes Gon no longer 'novel' but rather they are both 'novelties' in comparison to their peers.
@LlehSaDerob@RhockoHarrison On the subject of character flaws, I believe Gon is novel as more flaws are explored, they are explored in a manner that makes the antagonist look good in comparison, his flawed ways have long lasting effects on the series. Even the main dynamic (Gon+Kil) is still affected deeply
After this, Denshichiro hopes to ask his older brother to train him. Throwing away his pride, and potentially his desire to beat Sei, to rebuild their bond. Their differing worldviews has not made them forget their roots or their brotherly love for each other.
Yoshioka Seijuro, despite existing as a foil to his brother in the narrative, is still bound to Denshichiro by blood. Their differing methods of coping with responsibility (Seijuro via hedonism and Denshichiro via duty) has not made them forget their brotherly bond.
Seijuro says that if his brother's arm were to ever get cut off, he'd feel the pain as if he, himself, were cut.
Despite Denshichiro's desire to best his older brother, Seijuro's love for his brother has reached a level where he is subconsciously taking pain for Den.
@RhockoHarrison 3. Gon even takes this girl and uses her as a hostage.
4. Gon makes a pact that has wipes out his abilities to this day (Ichigo does same but it's to protect Karakura Town unlike Gon)
Gon's flaws are highlighted like no other.
@RhockoHarrison 1. Gon's anger was so out of control he turned on Killua (unpresent in any example you give, their anger is reserved for enemy)
2. Gon's enemy was trying to do an act of good, and Gon was trying to interfere (even threatening to kill an innocent girl)
