Oli is suddenly het-pilled today, so I started this series S&X #SとX, and honestly, I didn't expect it to be this good.
It’s about a sex therapist who treats his patients with care, but little does everyone around him know that he's also carrying childhood trauma. This 7-episode series follows his journey to heal from that trauma and restart his inner clock that stopped 17 years ago. The last scene made me cry, it was genuinely so healing.
The series is also very respectful and educational, touching on topics like sexual consent, voyeurism, various disorders and so on. It's surprisingly easy to watch in terms of NC content, though. Despite having the name S&X (which is, well, sex), they don't show much skin, so it's fairly safe for work if you want to watch it that way😁. There are also plenty of comedic moments to lighten things up, so it doesn't feel like you're watching a heavy documentary.
I especially love that the series acknowledges how difficult it can be for many women to speak up about sexual concerns because of the stigma and taboo surrounding them. It also highlights how many women experience harassment but feel unable to speak up about it.
There's also sapphic representation, although of course, I woul've loved to see more screen time for the LGBTQ+ community, including aroace representation.
Nakajima Kento absolutely nails his role. I also love his chemistry with the FL, Araki Yuko. The side characters did a great job as well.
Lastly, please don't hesitate to seek help if you have any concerns because "When it comes to sex, no one can be sure about anything."
Overall: 8.75/10. Recommended!
