@lindajonsson74 I think next year I will have our gr 6 Ss be the mentors! It would be a great way to practice responsibility & follow up. I have always wanted it entirely Ss owned. We’ll see how it goes!

Spent the day on the ocean with a marine biologist learning about dependency & systems by doing a sampling of the ocean floor. I have the BEST job.
@Mrs_Gilchrist A6 I’ve realized that it’s better to start off the unit & then see what we need to explicitly work on - split screen, writing them down, defining examples as a class, decide what does it look like, sound like.. all helps make it more concrete... and give time for Ss to reflect
@SeanPYPParis@Mrs_Gilchrist @EmmaInMaputo I’ve seen some teachers use “I can��� statements and students color in but now that I think about it, the progression should possibly be blank and the students add samples throughout the years
@Mrs_Gilchrist A3: we used the same two social skills for Art, PE and unit work in one week: making decisions together and helping your partner succeed. I can definitely improve in scaffolding but giving multiple opportunities in different context definitely gave positive outcomes
@Mrs_Gilchrist A2 I think could be done better. I think it’s easy to get stuck on “fun activities” versus really analyzing ATT and seeing ways to improve.
